GAME PLAYThis set of slides is designed to show the directcorrelation between games andbeing, doing, belonging and becoming. Theslides I have chosen show different types ofgame play and why they are important to us asOccupational Therapy students and, moredirectly how game play has aided recovery ofclients who had strokes which I observed onFieldwork placement.
A BRIEF OVERVIEW! This short series of slides is about stroke rehabilitation games facilitated by Occupational Therapists within a “Day Hospital” setting. I chose this topic for my slides because I found that not only is game play great for rehab purposes but also improves quality of life by giving the patients a sense of belonging in some instances. I was first introduced to the concepts of day hospital and game play for stroke rehab in my first fieldwork placement in which I spent one month in a community and AT and R setting in a rural hospital.
