Physical geography is the study of the earth’s natural features. It is about the land and the sea and the atmosphere around us (weather and climate), the landforms, hazards (floods, drought, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes)
The environment includes natural resources such as coal, iron, forests or water
Sometimes people use them to their advantage, but people often misuse these resources by using them up (minerals), by destroying them (soils, forests) or polluting them (rivers, seas on the air)
Why is Geography important? What does Geography mean to me?
> To study Geography is the opportunity for discovering the world around us
> People are very concerned with their quality of life
> There is now a growing concern over the quality of the environment and how it may be conserved while at the same time being made as useful as possible
