  • 1. WHY DID YOU USE THESE PARTICULARNEW MEDIA TECHNOLOGIES?HOW HAS IT HELPED YOU?
  • 2. ONLINE TOOLS I decided to use online tools like Spider Scribe, Prezi, Flip Snack and Xtra Normal Movie maker, as they provided new and interesting ways of viewing my work. This also meant that if something was to happen to my blog or the hard drive which my work is stored on, there would be an online copy which I could use and refer to. These tools also enabled collaborative working. For example, if I was unable to attend a meeting with my partner, we could collaborate our ideas online. This in turn increased our productivity rate and helped us meet deadlines.
  • 3. YOUTUBE We uploaded all our documentary versions onto YouTube. Using YouTube enabled us to use HTML code to embed the videos into our blogs and create direct links to the videos. This meant we could easily distribute our product for our target audience to view without having to upload large video files to FaceBook and Blogger. It was also a convenient way for our teacher to watch our product and monitor our progress.
  • 4. AUDIENCE FEEDBACK & RESEARCH We decided to film focus groups to gather the opinions of our target audience as it would give us the chance to observe our target audience in a discussion about our proposed idea. Thus making sure we created a product they would all like. We therefore decided to do the same when gathering feedback. We used Facebook to gather feedback as well as this is a popular site amongst our target audience. It would also allow them to provide an answer which wasnt restricted to a certain amount of characters like other social networking sites (e.g. Twitter.) This in turn helped them provide us with a better and more detailed response. This also linked in with our theme of social networking.
  • 5. FILMING It was important for us to use HD cameras as we wanted to create a product which looked good and which was to a professional standard. This meant we had to use equipment which was as close to what they use in the industry. The on screen filming software, Camtasia allowed us to create a product which was both engaging and different. This software allowed us to record on screen footage for our documentary so the audience could see a visual representation of what was being described.
  • 6. SOFTWARE It was important to use new media software, like Adobe InDesign, Premiere and Photoshop, as the products I wanted to create high quality products. This meant I had to use up-to-date industry standard software which would allow me to pull off the desired effects.
  • 7. CONCLUSION In conclusion, I used all of these new media technologies to present my work in new and interesting ways, increase my groups productivity, distribute content to audiences easily and create products of a high standard.
