  2. 2. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION ESO 1 INTRODUCTIONWhat is Religion?✔ Its the belief in the existence of a God (the creator of the universe with a supernatural power)✔ Its a focal interest that is very important and helps you in your life✔ Its a way of life that knows what is right and what is wrong, whats important in life and whats not so importantWhat is Religious Education?✔ Its a subject that teaches you morality (moral values), beliefs and a good behaviour in your life to make you feel better✔ To feel better, religious people have faith in something that they cannot see or in another different thing or person✔ The meaning of faith is: a strong belief in a supernatural power that controls human destiny (religious people cant see their god but they have faith in him / it). **Now, were going to experience faith in todays lesson with a game. Game 1 Pupils are in pairs: A and B A stands behind B B stands with his arms up and his back to A B falls back and A catches! B is not allowed to look back ( to help the pupils Ill give them a demonstration). This is faith! You trust someone to catch you. Discuss with your class1) Were you scared? Why?2) Had you faith that you would be caught? Why?3) Would you trust a stranger to catch you? Why?4) Do you have faith in anything? For example, a football team, a pop band, friends, parents... Why?5) Create an acrostic with FAITH or TRUST with the vocabulary I María Quintas
