Week 4 Assignment, Part 1: Development of an organization chart integrating technology Using the campus and district improvement plans, and any suggested technology improvements, develop an organization chart that includes the following: • Identify by title or job description all personnel/stakeholders responsible for integrating technology and instructional and organization leadership from the district office to the campus and classroom; • Provide a brief description of the role and responsibilities of all identified personnel in your organizational chart; • Discuss the role of the principal in making sure the organizational chart is implemented and monitored. School Board The school board is responsible for setting district policy. They must engage the community with decisions about the mission and direction of education. They make decisions about many items including technology and the integration of technology in education.Superintendent - Provide effective teaching and learning that results in student mastery for successful college and career readiness. -Provide a safe, healthy, secure and orderly environment for students, staff, families and community. -Recruit, retain and develop a highly effective staff that proactively engages students for success. -Ensure that 100% of teachers and administrators will be trained in Levels of Teaching Innovation (LoTI) fundament -Ensure 100% of teachers will be observed at least once per year by campus administrative staff using the Levels of Teaching Innovation/Higher order thinking, Engaged learning, Authentic connections, and high quality Technology (LoTI/HEAT) observation. -Ensure 100% of campuses will provide Internet safety, cyber bullying and acceptable use training each year for staff, students and parents. -Engage families and community to be active partners in the education of our children. -Improve public perception of the District by engaging in proactive public relations as outlined in the Strategic Communications Plan provided by Voss and Associates. -Maintain a strong and stable financial position.

Week 4 Assignment, Part 2: Professional Development PlanningUsing the campus and district improvement plans, and any suggested technologyimprovements, develop professional development activities that include the following:• Reference analysis and lessons learned about the technology needs from the Week 3 report;• Addresses professional development designed to improve the gathering, analysis and use of data from a variety of sources;• Includes professional development to improve decision-making in the integration of technology with instructional and organizational leadership.Rationale For Technology NeedsIn recent work and research I have learned that Irving ISD has made significantprogress in the area of technology. However, there are still areas that needimprovement. I learned of Irving’s Long Range plan for technology during thisclass. This plan specifically lays out how Irving plans to use technology to ensureour students are ready for the 21st century. Irving’s Long Range Plan fortechnology addresses teaching with technology explicitly. I learned that goalnumber one relates directly to integrating technology with quality instruction. Thegoal is for teachers to infuse higher-level thinking with technology and qualityinstruction to ensure engaging learning experiences for teachers and students.One of the goals for the district is to integrate technology into the districtcurriculum. I know that science curriculum was recently rewritten and it doesinclude more technology integration than before. Another objective in the districtsplan is for teachers to increase technology integration and facilitate lessons at aLOTI level 3 or above. This class provided me with the opportunity to review the STAR chart datafor the first time. I am familiar with the STAR chart and have filled it out for years.However, we were never showed the data from it or explained what it was for. Ithink that is the first step for teachers and the district reaching any technologygoals. When I was reviewing the STAR chart data for my campus, I learned thatwe are at developing tech level for both teaching and learning and educator prepand development. I believe that these areas are related and it doesn’t surpriseme that both areas are lower. We are in need of direct technology professionaldevelopment that deals directly with our curriculum and content areas. I also reviewed Irving’s District Improvement Plan and goal number fourthat relates to technology. Irving requires all teachers to participate inprofessional development regarding technology and to use a variety oftechnology resources to teach and engage students so that they can succeed ina 21st century environment. One of the performance objectives states that
teachers are required to submit two lessons a year that meet a LoTI level of 3 orhigher. I believe that teachers are not aware of all the levels or how to make alesson that exceeds a LoTI level 3. Based on the data from the STAR chart I know that our campus is in needof professional development related to technology. This is also related directly toteaching and learning, which our campus scored lower on. When looking atIrving’s Long Range Plan for technology and the district Improvement plan Inoticed both noted that teachers should be creating and teaching lessons thatare at a LoTI level 3 or higher. I believe that teachers need more information andtraining on the LoTi levels before we can expect them reach it.
