  • emalone erin malone, Principal at Tangible ux CW - I like what you are doing with your model and the triangles. I think Social Space is a good way to label what's created by the intersections of Identity, Relationships and Participation or Activity. These 3 things are how we have been talking about community and social for years while I was at Yahoo!

I think though it is as important to talk about the things that can happen when spaces are designed for them as much as the things you can do to build and facilitate those spaces.

  • cwodtke Christina Wodtke, Instructor & Curriculum Designer at Consulting, Investing, Advising, Talking, Teaching I've been focusing on the things you can do as opposed to the things that happen when you create the spaces for them to happen... so when I talk about relationships, it's how you design the system to support explicit user created relationships... community strikes me as a thing that may happen if you design the system right. or may now. ;)

You might note I added the 'social space' inverted space triangle-- I'll be working on that more next!

  • xian Christian Crumlish, Director of Product at CloudOn Yes. It was an early sketch (for BayCHI last year) just to give some sense to major concept areas and then interesting things at their interfaces..

now looking at how you have relationships where we have community... different scales in focus depending on the name.
