  6. 6. Philippians 3:12-14 NIV Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers & sisters , I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
  7. 7. 1 Corinthians 9:24 (NIV) 24 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 1 Corinthians 9:25 (NIV) 25 Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
  8. 8. Colossians 1:29 (NIV) 29 To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.
  10. 10. 1. Attitude of humility ‘I have not yet arrived’
  11. 11. "Humility is not thinking less of yourself , (that‟s inferiority or insecurity) but thinki ng of yourself less."
  12. 12. 2. Forget what is behind Hebrews 12:1 (NIV) 1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.
  13. 13. After the matter is forgiven if I raise it again to myself – that’s self-pity if I raise it again to God – that’s judgment if I raise it again with the offender – that’s condemning if I raise it again with others – that’s gossiping.
  14. 14. 3. Strain towards what’s ahead
  15. 15. Judges 6:12 (NIV) 12 When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, "The Lord is with you , mighty warrior."
  16. 16. 4. Press on towards the goal
  17. 17. „the poorest of all men is not the man with out a cent, but the man without a dream.‟
  18. 18. ”but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.” 1. We forever want to be a church who puts worship and God's presence above all else 2. We forever want to be His disciples who look actively for ways to live and bring His Kingdom from heaven to earth
