2. MATTHEW 28:16-19
Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to
the mountain to which Jesus had directed
and made appointment with them. And
when they saw Him they fell down and
worshipped Him; but some doubted. Jesus
approached, and breaking the silence said
to them, All authority in heaven and on
earth has been given to me. Go then…
3. LUKE 10:1-11
Now after this the Lord chose and appointed
seventy-two others and sent them out ahead,
two by two, into every town and place where He
himself was about to come. And He said to
them, the harvest is indeed abundant, but the
farmhands are few. Pray then to the Lord of the
harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.
Go your way, behold I send you like lambs into
the midst of wolves. Carry no purse, no
provisions bag, no change of sandals; refrain
from retarding your journey by saluting and
wishing well anyone along your way.
4. Whatever house you enter first, say, Peace to
this household! Freedom from all stresses
resulting from sin be with this family. And if
anyone worthy of peace and blessedness is
there, the peace and blessedness you wish
shall come back upon him, but if not, it shall
come back to you.
And stay in the same house eating and
drinking what they provide, for the laborer is
worthy of his wages. Do not keep moving
from house to house.
5. Whenever you go into a town and they receive
and they accept and welcome you, eat what is
set before you: and heal the sick in it, and say
to them, The Kingdom of God has come close
to you.
But wherever you go into a town and they do
not receive, accept and welcome you, go on
into its streets and say, ‘Even the dust of your
town that clings to our feet we are wiping off
against you; yet know and understand that
the Kingdom of God has come near you.
6. We need to go – 2 by 2.
Jesus would have gone there.
Pray for more laborers.
It will be dangerous and we will feel vulnerable.
Just be yourself, no need for other stuff.
Be intentional in our journey and not easily
distracted.
Enter a house and speak Peace!
If the peace is received they will be blessed, if it
is rejected, you will be blessed
7. If they receive the peace, stay with them and
eat what they give you (this is your earning).
Don’t move from house to house.
Heal the sick and declare the kingdom of God
has come near.
If not received, wipe the dust from your feet
and declare the Kingdom of God has come
near.
8. Why?
• They are more comfortable
• We are more vulnerable
• We are showing understanding
• We are affirming who they are
9. How to speak peace?
• Say that you bless this home / family/ person
with freedom from all stresses that sin wants to
put on them!
• ‘Shalom’ – bless them with tranquility, calm,
prosperity, security, grace.
• Be kind, real and encouraging about their
situation.
THIS IS SOMETHING WE CAN
ALL DO
10. When do we stay?
When the person is a HOST:
• Hungers for the relationship
• Is Open to you
• Is Sharing his life
• Is Transparent
11. Let them share their life with you.
We affirm that their world is important to us.
We covenant, and choose to go deeper.
What we eat, determines how deep the
relationship will get.

15. Jesus spoke to a prostitute by himself;
had tea with a despised tax collector;
had meals with opposing Pharisees;
touched lepers; noticed dirty
disreputable blind people and healed
them, and even went into a stinky
tomb to raise Lazarus.
16. 1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my
preaching were not with persuasive words of
human wisdom, but in demonstration of the
Spirit and power, that your faith should not be
in the wisdom of men but in the power of
God. a. Interview
