Foundations Foundations Presentation Transcript

  • Psalm 127:1 (NIV) 1 Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain.
  • Foundations of the whole earth belong to the Lord 1 Samuel 2:8 (NIV) 8 … "For the foundations of the earth are the Lord's; upon them he has set the world.
  • The Lord laid the foundations of the earth Job 38:4 (NIV) 4 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation? Psalm 102:25 (NIV) 25 In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.
  • Even the Lord’s throne has foundations Psalm 89:14 (NIV) 14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne …
  • God has no intention of moving the earth’s foundations Psalm 104:5 (NIV) 5 He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.
  • Isaiah prophecies that Jesus will come as a ‘sure’ foundation stone for our lives Isaiah 28:16 (NIV) 16 So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who trusts will never be dismayed.
  • Unless you build your life upon good foundations you’ll collapse in a heap! Luke 6:48-49 (NIV) 48 He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. 49 But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
  • 6 foundational teachings Hebrews 6:1-2 (NIV) 1 Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, 2 instruction about baptisms, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment.
  • Repentance from acts that lead to death Faith in God Know about baptisms (Water, Spirit, Fire) How to lay on hands (praying for people) Resurrection of the dead Eternal judgement
  • Every church must be built upon a solid foundation Ephesians 2:19-20 (NIV) 19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God's people and members of God's household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
  • V.I.P. VERY IMPORTANT POINT 1 Corinthians 3:10-14 (NIV) 10 … But each one should be careful how he builds. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work.
  • Foundation Pillar # 1 Jesus had a single focused key message: the Kingdom of God has come. He preached it and He demonstrated it wherever His went.
  • Matthew 4:23 (NIV) 23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. Matthew 4:23 (MSG) 23 From there he went all over Galilee. He used synagogues for meeting places and taught people the truth of God. God's kingdom was his theme—that beginning right now they were under God's government, a good government! He also healed people of their diseases and of the bad effects of their bad lives.
  • Foundational pillar # 2 God’s original intention is His eternal intention Genesis 1:28 (NIV) 28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
  • Foundation Pillar # 3 The kingdom is always advancing. Isaiah 9:6-7 (NIV) 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this.
  • Matthew 6:33 (NIV) 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
  • Revelation 21:1-5 (NIV) 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. 2 I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. 4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." 5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!"
