  • 1. Gender Gender male female I handed my questionnaires out to the same amount of males and females so that it was fair and so that I could see if their was a difference in answers with the males and females.
  • 2. What age are you? What age are you 16 16-19 20-24 I tried to hand my questionnaires out to a variety of people of different ages. I handed most of them out in college because most of the students in college are the same age as my target audience. Half of the people who answered my questionnaires were age 16.
  • 3. Do you read music magazines? Do you read music magazines yes no Over half of the people that answered my questionnaire stated that they do not read music magazines. This will help me when I produce my magazine because I will maybe have to change the target audience to people that do read music magazines. On the other hand not everyone said no which means that some of my target audience do actually read music magazines.
  • 4. How often do you buy music magazines? How often do you buy music magazines? never rarely weekly monthly This result shows me that most of the people who answered my questionnaires never buy music magazines. It also shows me that the people who do buy music magazines mostly buy them rarely and hardly ever weekly. This could help me when producing my magazine by showing me that the frequency of publication of my magazine should be monthly.

What music magazine do you read often? kerrang NME Q rocksound Classic rock Other This result shows me that the most popular music magazine that my target audience read is Kerrang. To help me with my magazine I could buy a Kerrang magazine and read it too see why people find this one maybe better than other music magazines or see what is good about this magazine.
  • 6. How much money do you spend on 1 magazine? How much money do you spend on 1 magazine? £2-£2.50 £2.51-£3 More than £3.01 This result shows me that people would only pay £3 or lower for a music magazine. This could help me when I make my magazine because I know to price my magazine at £2/£3 because this is what my target audience would be happy to pay.
  • 7. What colours do you think would be most appropriate for a rock magazine? What colours do you think would be most appropriate for a rock magazine? Black white silver green grey Red yellow blue orange This shows me that the people who answered my questionnaire mostly think that Black or Red are the most appropriate colours for a rock music magazine. This helps me for when I make my magazine because I will use black and red as that’s what is most appropriate.

On a scale of 1-5, 1 being most important, how would you rate the following aspects of a music magazine? pictures articles reviews up coming gig list This result shows that pictures, articles and reviews were chosen the most important aspects of a music magazine. This helps me for when I make my music magazine because I know that these are the most important so I must include them.
