  1. 1. What have you learned from youraudience feedback?Ellen Brooking
  2. 2. Pre ProductionDuring my pre production I conducted a questionnaire which allowed me tosee what the audience wanted from the product which helped me to developa product that fitted to their needs and wants. By conducting thequestionnaire I was able to look at every aspect of my project allowing mypieces to apply and fit the audience with what they wanted.Through my questionnaire I looked at the visual and the contextual side of allmy pieces which really helped me to gain an understanding of what theaudience truly wanted and how I could apply my results to my secondaryresearch to create a extremely successful product. Through the collection ofall my research and especially my primary research and audience feedback Iwas able to highlight what I needed to create and how I could encompass itinto my products. One of the main benefits of conducting audience feedbackwork was that it allowed me to look at every area which I think really helpedme to improve the standard of my work whilst also creating a product thatwould appeal to my audience in a specific style. The questionnaire alsoallowed me identify my target audience which really helped me to focus thenarrative and style in my production pieces which ultimately allows myproducts to appeal to my audience more create a target specific piece ratherthan a piece that some of the target may like.
  3. 3. Post ProductionAfter I had completed my main task and ancillary task Ishowed my products to people who would fit in my targetaudience which allowed me to see if I had effectively createda product that fulfilled the needs and wants of my targetaudience. After creating a focus group which fulfilled thecriteria of my target audience I asked them a couple ofquestions which allowed me to gather their thoughts andopinions on the products that I have created. I asked them acouple of questions which allowed me to gain a better insightinto what they though of the product as well as how theythought the products worked together as a completedpackage. I asked some select questions and here are theresponses that I was able to collect.
  4. 4. Ancillary TasksIn my questionnaire I asked my target audience their opinions on different aspects ofthe ancillary task I created which allowed me to see how the product appealed theaudience and how it could be improved to ensure that the audience needs and wantsare cared for. One of the main points that I was able to obtain from my questionnaire ismy target audience opinion on whether the ancillary tasks work well together Myaudience all said that they think the product work well together to create a completeappearance; many pointed out the use of the sea and the models as a piece that reallyhelped to connect the pieces. The use of the blue and green colouring was mention alot which allowed me to see that the use of a house style and theme really worked tocreate a successful style within the work. The audience feedback also allowed me to identify that the use of the images helpedto create a theme throughout the work. The style of the ancillary tasks helps to createan overall feel which my target audience thinks works well to highlight the style. Mytarget audience seemed to be split whether the layout and style was to simple orwhether it fitted the style of the product. However all of my target audience agreedthat the images used fitted the style and themes within the product whilst alsorepeating how the product work well together as a whole visually.
  5. 5. Main TaskMy target audience all seemed enjoyed the use of a narrative within the video howeversome felt that it lacked a full plot. They also commented on the use of differentcolouring within the music video and the use of different shot types as they thoughthis worked well to continue the pace when asked about the pace. They also statedthat they though that the use of different locations helped to create diversion withinthe video. A lot of the people I asked like the use of the first location shown as theythought it reflected the youth and the style of the music video as well the transitionfrom colour to monotone when the mood of the scene changed. When asked about the choice of music some of the people though the music was alittle boring and that it never climaxed however a couple of people stated that theythought the pace, music and narrative worked well together to create an interestingvideo. One of the people I asked stated that they thought the music video waspredominately aimed at females due to the plot and style which suggests that myaudience has been made more specific to a particular audience. The people I asked allstated that they though the use of different colouring helped to exaggerate the moodand the equilibrium within the video.
