I’ll try to make this easy to understand. The throat is a tube, but it has tissue that hangs down in the
airway. This tissue will vibrate as you sleep and it gets to the point where you end up with loud noise
being produced. That is what you’re hearing. The reason that this tissue creates the sounds when you’re
asleep is due to your jaw sagging down on the throat and creating pressure.
