New Police Officer Test - Presentation Transcript

    1. New Police Officer Test I wanted to talk to you about the new police officer test. As you can probably guess, the job of an officer is the same year after year and decade after decade. Times have changed, but the police are expected to play the same role. Obviously, they need to update the test to make it a little more relevant to the times and that’s what they’ve done in 2009. Things are a little different for you, but the fundamentals will always remain the same. If you’re someone that is going to be facing this test, than you’re still going to have to study hard. It’s not going to be any easier. I’m going to talk to you about the new police officer test. The first thing you need to know is that the questions are going to read almost like riddles. The reason it is like this is due to the fact that they want to test you on things they’re not asking. Basically when you have a riddle, you have to demonstrate detective skills and that’s important for an officer. You need to demonstrate that you can figure out things and follow the twists of a story. This skill is quite important when you’re questioning suspects or victims. The new police officer test is going to continue to focus on your writing skills. If you’re unaware, you’re going to need excellent writing skills as an officer. You have to write reports that will inevitably be used in courts, so you need to have a great standard when it comes to writing. They’ll be secretly marking you on your spelling and grammar.
