2. Shot ONE My trailer opens up with this very quick shot of a ‘lamppost’, I decided to use this, as I felt that It would enable the audience to identify that it is night, a shown by the bright white light, and the bold black background.
3. Shot TWO The next shot used, again is very quick. I decided to use this sign, so that the audience are able to understand that the setting is now in a street. The reason for choosing to use this is that both the previous and this shot enable the audience to feel safe with what they are watching as I slowly build on setting.
4. Shot THREE The camera then cuts to this shot, a ‘close up’ of the door being unlocked. This sends out a mysterious feeling, as they do not yet know who is behind the door. Slowly building on the tension.
5. Shot FOUR I then take the audience away from the door, where I have used an establishing shot, to create this vivid image that someone is being watched. The glisten of light coming from the mid point of the screen, creates this spooky feeling.
6. Shot FIVE The camera then cuts to a girl ‘Jessica’ walking into the house. From this point on wards I feel that the audience will be able to understand that she might be in danger.
7. Shot SIX The then placed my first piece of text into the trailer. I decided to make the writing simple and to the point. My reason for choosing to use ‘obsession’, is because it doesn’t give too much away, yet it lets the audience think.
8. Shot SEVEN I then let the audience for the first time, see who is following the girl. By him touching the window, suggests that he is obsessed with the girl (links back to previous title) and that he wants to be closer to her. The bright light which I used again, is to replicate that is night. The reason for setting my trailer at night, is because I felt that the audience would feel more threatened, as during night-time you are much more vulnerable. I addition to this, the audience know more than the girl, therefore dramatic irony is created, making them feel sympathy for Jessica.
9. Shot EIGHT The audience are now able to see that someone is inside the house, slowly creeping upstairs. This shot was simply used to build on the tension and fear for the audience.
10. Shot NINE I used this shot of the girl brushing her teeth in the bathroom, so that the audience are able to understand that this is just like any other ‘ordinary’ young girl. The audience at this point know that someone is behind her.
11. Shot TEN This title was used, so that the audience are able to understand, that this girl is in danger. The use of the words ‘young girl’, both create an innocent, naive girl who is in danger.
12. Shot ELEVEN We then see the girl go to bed. Turning off her light, with her back facing towards the camera suggesting that she is totally oblivious to what is about to happen.
13. Shot TWELVE The next shot is used, shows the hand creeping slowly towards the door. The reason for choosing just to show the mans hand, was so that his identity is revealed, making the audience wanting to know more.
14. The audience are then left with the man facing directly at the camera. This is a very fast shot used, to create that final impact at the end of the trailer. The mans identity isn’t fully shown, he is still moulded in with the darkness. Shot THIRTEEN
15. Shot FOURTEEN I then end with a quick half a second shot of this eye. This is used as a symbolic object throughout all of my other media products. I got this eye off a clip, on You-Tube.
16. Shot FIFTEEN I used a voiceover to illustrate the title of my film. I felt that by using a girls name, would have more of an effect, as its more personal.
