Whenever an aircraft crosses a “significant point” (i.e.: flight planned)
Periodically (SP), in either level flight, or climbing/descending.
On first leaving the RAM Corridor, when aircraft has deviated from Flight Plan track (either by inaccurate flying or when FDR has not been updated to take account of a re-route)
