    • An Overview  New Department created during Feb’2012 to promote Technical, Professional and Skill Training sector in more focused manner :     Directorate of Technical Education and Training Directorate of Employment and Employment Mission Technological Universities State Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training  About 1000 Institutes in Government and Private sector with annual intake capacity of about ` 1.92lakh Students at all levels: Degree in Engineering/Technology -45,000 Professional(MBA,MCA) -16,000 Diploma(Polytechnics) - 38,000 Certificate(ITI) -94,000  The Odisha Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation admission and Fixation of Fee) Act, 2007  Polytechnics at all the 30 districts.  Steps taken for block level it is & to cover up all un-served blocks.  Web enabled Central Placement Cell of
    • IT applications in Technical Institutes Directorate  Web site and E-dispatch of official letters Online distribution of budget Other e- correspondences Polytechnic and ITI Education:  Implementation of E-Learning through Virtual Class room under AVIEW (Amrita Virtual Interactive E-learning World) monitored by NITTTR, Kolkata  Utilisation of Free Software lunched by AICTE in their website for use of AICTE approved Institutes customising the syllabus & learning additional soft skills by the students  Online Application for admission into Diploma courses through DET  Web Counselling for Diploma courses  Online registration for Diploma and ITI courses with SCTE&VT  Automation of SCTE&VT for Diploma and ITI Examination and Certification

CCTV Camera and Biometric Machines in Technical Institutes  All Technical Institutes to have CCTV Camera and Biometric Machines Nourishment for a healthy Industry Work Culture Attendance and Attentiveness of students and staff Punctuality and dutifulness of staff Free and fair conduct of examination 2. Interactive, Software Integrated Learning(ISIL) System based Smart / Multimedia Class Room in Technical Institutes  All Technical Institutes to have Smart / Multimedia Class Room In addition to Personality and Communication Lab Further improving personality of the student Industry Institute Interface Campus selection Demonstration of Machines/ Technology

Satellite Interface Terminal(SIT) for EDUSAT Networks  All Technical Institutes to have SIT to have virtual class Room System Meeting the lectures on Critical Subjects Interactive Virtual Class Rooms Dearth of Talent Faculties in specialized subjects Dissemination of latest Technology 4. Application of EDUSOFT in all Technical Institutes  Different Modules on e-library, stock inventory, syllabi coverage, students & faculty daily attendance, performances of students & faculties , extracurricular activities, examination, certification, placement etc as suitable for improving quality of teaching and learning in technical institutes;  Coverage of all Technical Institutes , Directorate and SCTE&VT;
    • Steps taken for quality improvement  Establishment of Finishing School at DTE&T, Odisha for providing Industry driven short term training courses by various Training Institutes.  Introduction of Advanced Vocational Training and Post Diploma courses to bridge the gap of skill and job market  Signing of MoU between Govt. of Odisha & NITTTR, Kolkata (under MHRD, GoI) for Providing Quality Training to Faculties & Students through NMEICT (National Mission on Education through Information & Communication Technology)  Setting up of IToT at Talcher and Bhubaneswar to create a talent pool of Trainers  Infrastructure support to Polytechnics and ITIs to match the technological advancements  Association of Industries in skill development sector  Formation of Governing Bodies by associating District Administration
