    • Browse: To look over
    • People browse for books, clothes
  • Shelf Helper
    • Shelf Helper : a plastic marker to help save our place on the shelf
    • A book mark saves our place IN a book, shelf helpers save their place on the shelf
  • Order
    • Order : to arrange, to put in a group
    • We line up in ABC order and so do books!
    • Books that do not stay straight on the shelves get out of order
  • Circulation
    • Circulate : to move; to pass from one person to another
    Our Circulation Desk Your blood circulates through your body
  • Check Out
    • Check Out : to take something with the promise of returning it
    • If you check out a book, you take it with you when you leave the library
  • Borrow
    • Borrow : to take and promise to return
    • We borrow money, we borrow toys,
    • We borrow BOOKS!
  • Scan
    • Scan : to look over
    • You scan a book to see if it is just right for you
    • The scanner beeps your books
  • Barcode
    • Barcode : a code of numbers
    • We scan barcodes to buy food and check in and out our books
  • Return
    • Return : To go back or give back
    • We return clothes that don’t fit
    • Salmon return to where they were born
  • Check In
    • Check In: to return your book to the Media Center
    • Your scan it and put it on the cart
  • Overdue
    • Overdue: Late to return, not back on time
    • Your bus might be late in the morning, that makes YOU overdue for school!
  • Due
    • Due : Something expected
    • When your book needs to come back to the Media Center it is due
