  2. 2. <ul><li>Goldie is coming to Confetti </li></ul><ul><li>Goldie will be coming to Confetti to talk about his life and amazing success in the Creative Industries before performing an exclusive DJ set at Stealth.  This will be a private gig for Confetti students only. </li></ul><ul><li>Goldie earned his name as a graffiti artist in the West Midlands in the early eighties.  His artwork around Birmingham and Wolverhampton was featured heavily in Afrikaa Bambaataa's feature film documentary Bombing (which was broadcast on Channel 4 in the UK). </li></ul><ul><li>In addition to being one of the UK's earliest and most important Graffiti writers, Goldie has had great success as a drum and bass DJ, producer and actor.  1994 saw him setting up his own record label, Metalheadz. The label was a huge success, releasing some of the most important tunes of that era, and remains hugely successful and respected to this day.  Goldie has also recently starred in James Bond, Snatch, Eastenders, Big Brother, BBC Maestro, and a social worker TV advert. </li></ul><ul><li>Full details of how you can join this and many other great Industry Week sessions will be announced in the student notices soon! </li></ul><ul><li>Check out the timetables around the building to get a full run down of the week’s events. </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

  9. 11. <ul><li>DJ8- Key Skills Revision and Exams </li></ul><ul><li>Please make note of the following important dates and times: </li></ul><ul><li>Application of Number Revision- Ann Townsend took the first of three consecutive revision sessions last week in preparation for the upcomming AON Level 2 exam. </li></ul><ul><li>1. Tuesday 19 th January 5:00pm-7:00pm in S106- if you missed this session- see Mark Shotter or Ariana Moore ASAP </li></ul><ul><li>2. Tuesday 26 th January 5:00pm-7:00pm in S106 COMPULSORY </li></ul><ul><li>3. Tuesday 2 nd February 5:00pm-7:00pm in s106 COMPULSORY </li></ul><ul><li>EXAMS </li></ul><ul><li>Communication Level 2- Monday 1 st February 3:00pm </li></ul><ul><li>Application of Number Level 2- Wednesday 3 rd February 9:00am and 10:15am </li></ul><ul><li>ICT Level 2- Friday 5 th February 9:30am and 10:30am </li></ul><ul><li>Remembering these exam dates is your responsibility.   10. 12. <ul><li>  Calling all BND Music Tech Students! </li></ul><ul><li>We’re putting together a Confetti CD of BND Music Technology student tracks and we want your tunes ! </li></ul><ul><li>The best tracks will be chosen by a panel of tutors, mastered and put on to a CD which will be given to visitors and future students of Confetti.   11. 13. <ul><li>Confetti’s LRC </li></ul><ul><li>It’s great to see so many students getting the new year off to a good start by making good use of our library and computer facilities in the LRC. </li></ul><ul><li>Please remember the LRC is located next to reception where a member of staff will be waiting to assist you with loaning and returning of books. </li></ul>
  12. 14. <ul><li>Keeping Healthy </li></ul><ul><li>Nottingham Marrow (University of Nottingham), on behalf of the Anthony Nolan Trust, is running a mini marathon at Wollaton Park. </li></ul><ul><li>Last year alone they attracted 450 participants and raised over £13,300 due to local support and this year they’re looking to make it even bigger. </li></ul><ul><li>For more information on how to enter, please visit </li></ul>
  13. 15. <ul><li>Personal Development Opportunities </li></ul><ul><li>When we’re not fully present and aware, we move through life on auto-pilot. We live by habit, reacting unconsciously to people and events around us.
