    • Are you getting your 5-a-day?
    • Confetti will be helping you along your way to 5-a-day by including fruit alongside our freshly made sandwiches in the café.
    • Fresh fruit will be on sale from the first week back after half term!
    • Give it a try!
  • 3.
    • Studio Bookings
    • Please remember studio bookings must be made 48 hrs in advance either through your tutor (for FE students) or through FileMaker (for HE students). If the studio is not booked by this time, you will be denied access.
    • Procedures regarding the advance booking of computer suites must also always be followed. Doors shut promptly at 6:00pm and you will not be allowed access after this time without prior confirmation.
    • These procedures must be followed.

    • ‘ Confetti Showcase’ June 17 th 2010
    •  
    • Experience Confetti’s annual showcase of the best student work, including: films, animations, remixes, classic music productions, computer game concepts and designs and sound installations.
    • Meet the students that created them and hear about their work and ambitions.
    • Guests from throughout the Creative Industries will be there to network with students / graduates and sample the talent of the future. Students, parents and guests are all welcome.
    • Times and specific details to follow…

    • Designated smoking areas
    • If you haven’t quit smoking yet, please remember that the courtyard is the only designated smoking area in Confetti and it is illegal to smoke under the awning near the bike rack.
    • Please also remember that the front of Confetti is not a seating area and that this is an area of work.

    • National Diploma Music Technology Students
    • In addition to the usual catch up sessions on Mondays 1800-1900 in S215, from now on Lawrence Stewart is also available every Thursday 1400-1500.
    • Email [email_address] to book an appointment and meet in the café ahead of your timeslot.

    • Functional Skills Exams
    • Functional English re-sits and all important Functional math’s exams are being held on Tuesday 8 th and Wednesday 9 th June, 2010 .
    • Passing these exams is essential criteria for progression on to higher level courses at Confetti and elsewhere.
    • Attending all Creative Industry Skills sessions as well as your allocated Skill Building session in the LRC is essential over the next two weeks.
    • In addition to this, you should continue to develop your skills outside of Confetti using www.bbc.co.uk/skillswise or by logging on to your own For Skills account at www.moredle.com .

    • UK Young Artists
    • UK Young Artists is calling for submissions for this year’s awards and you’re invited to be involved!
    • Its aim is to showcase the best of the UK's young and innovative creative talent and provide vital support to young artists (18-30) while building confidence and supporting creative networking.

    • Get Connected!
    • Connect is the title for a brand new pilot television programme being launched by the Confetti Media Group. It is a magazine style entertainment programme that looks at the Creative Industries in Nottingham past, present and future. Think The Gadget Show meets The Culture Show.  Content for the programme will be produced by students studying music, media and gaming at Confetti at Levels 3 and 4 with industry specialists and mentors on hand to provide expert tuition and guidance throughout the production process.
    • Already 50 students from a variety of courses are actively involved with the project and are currently working with mentors to develop a variety of assets for the programme including music, graphics and video.

    • Castle Radio
    • The new Castle College AM Radio Station has been set up to run along the lines of a Student Union society. This gives Confetti students many exiting opportunities in terms of helping to run the station and providing or developing content for transmission.
    • Student presenters can submit one hour radio shows on CD to Curtis Hodelin for consideration for upcoming shows. All material will be checked by Castle Radio management before being played on air and the attached guidelines must be followed.

    • The most important of the Buddhist festivals. It celebrates the Buddha's birthday, and, for some Buddhists, also marks his enlightenment and death.
    • Sat 29 May- Ascension of Baha'u'llah (Bahai )
    • Anniversary of Baha'u'llah's death in in 1892 near Akka, Israel.
    • Sun 30 May - Trinity Sunday (Christian )
    • The first Sunday after Pentecost. Christians meditate on the nature of God as "Three in one".
    • Sun 30 May - Trinity Sunday All Saints' Day (Orthodox) (Christian )
    • This day honours all saints, known and unknown, of the Christian church. Western churches celebrate All Saints Day on November 1.
