    2. Cricket Bookie started out as IPL Bookie, a fun IPL T20 betting application on Orkut, India's No.1 social networking website. It saw immense growth within days of it's launch, which encouraged us to take it beyond IPL and have it rebranded as Cricket Bookie . What exactly do people bet on? Every user started with a certain amount of virtual money and could place bets on the outcomes of the match. i.e. Who will win the match? Who will win the toss? Who will be the Man of the Match? How many sixes will be hit in the match? etc Introduction www.cricketbookie.in
      • Started out with some basic questions before the match.
      • Next we introduced live betting during the match. i.e. Who will bowl the 15th over of the 1st innings? How many runs will be scored in the 10th over etc.. This ensured heavy traffic during the match
      • We had a Live Chat room within the application where users could discuss the match and their bets with other users.
      • Top 50 users were rewarded with iPods and Team Jerseys
      How did we go about it?
    3. Promoting Cricket Bookie
      • Intriguing Newsletters
      • Via Social Media: Twitter, Blog posts, Orkut communities, SMS groups etc
      • We incentivised participation by allowing users to earn more money by referring their friends to the app. The user even got a cut on the profits of his friend! This ensured a sustained viral effect.

      • 50,000+ Unique Users of the application in 1 month
      • Cricket Bookie is already in the Top 25 applications of Orkut
      • Over 25,000 active users on the day of the Finals!
      • Over 15 million in virtual money bet on the Finals (More than 5,00,000 transactions)
    5. What’s Next?
      • Cricket Bookie will be launched on Facebook and MySpace.
      • The T20 World Cup is going to be the next big thing!
