      • Promoting student mobility has over the last decades been a remarkable success in many European countries.

      Where do we go from here?
    • Promoting student mobility in the European Higher Education Area
      • I. To enhance mobility rates even further funding schemes have to be adopted to changing mobility patterns and framework conditions.
      • Fresh funding lines and promotional activities needed for
      • opportunities for shorter study-related stays abroad (e.g. summer internships)
      • integrated windows of mobility, double or joint degree programmes
      • periods abroad for international students and researchers at national institutions
      • mobility between degrees

    • Promoting student mobility in the European Higher Education Area
      • II. Promoting student mobility is not only a question of raising numbers, but also involves qualitative aspects.
      • better integration of international students
      • transparent and binding “ codes of conduct ” for international students
      • better credit recognition
      • effective measures against Brain Drain
      • better employment perspectives through
      • benchmarks for the internationalisation of staff
