  • 2. Technology Use:
    • Technology use is when you have electronic equipment available, and you use it in the classroom
  • 3. Technology Integration
    • Technology integration is like technology use because you are using the equipment that is available to you.
    • However, you are using this equipment productively.
  • 4. Which is better?
    • I believe that technology integration is what schools should be focusing on.
    • Students will benefit more from the productive and active use of technology in their classrooms.
    • Technology is a part of their everyday lives, and it always will be. Knowing how to integrate it into other curriculum is essential for them.
  • 5. Why do some people lean towards technology use?
    • Monetary Issues
    • Time Constraints
    • Is it effective?
    • Teacher Don’t Know How to Use It
  • 6. Budgets
    • Having the money to acquire technology for schools is always an issue.
    • Most technology critics believe that schools can not afford technology for their students.
  • 7. Time
    • Some critics believe that there is not enough time to implement technology into the school day.
    • Technology is usually a complex thing to teach so it takes up a lot of time.
    • They believe that it is hard enough to meet the requirements of other curriculum, and that technology is just added stress.
  • 8. Effectiveness
    • There has not been an excess amount of research done over the effectiveness of technology in education which makes some critics believe that it is not important.
    • Critics often wonder this because they believe it would be published if it was important.
  • 9. Teacher and Technology
    • Some teachers that have been in the teaching profession for awhile are computer and technology illiterate.
    • Teachers should be trained in technology so they are able to teach it productively.
  • 10. Why should technology be implemented in schools?
    • Society relies on technology.
    • It enables and assists with communication
    • It encourages creativity.
    • Grade improvement has been linked to technology integration.
    • Kids enjoy working with technology, and it makes them excited about coming to school.
    • Students with special needs are often able to complete work better when they use technology.
  • 11. Society and Technology
    • Society requires technology in many ways.
    • Students will have to use technology in society to function as a citizen.
    • Most jobs require the use of technology.
    • They will also need technology integration to be competitive students and citizens. The more they know, the more they will stand out to future employers and clients.
  • 12. Communication and Technology
    • Technology is essential for communication, and without technology integration students would be less able to communicate effectively.
    • Using technology to communicate connects students to the world.
    • Students can communicate
    • through: phone lines,
    • emails, video conferencing
    • and much more.
  • 13. Creativity
    • Students can use the web to gather ideas.
    • Using technology allows students to express themselves.
    • It encourage them to communicate with others. This helps them think critically about ideas.
    • It allows them to research topics by using more resources. If they did not have the web or other technology they would be limited to books.
  • 14. Grade Improvement
    • They are engaged in literacy while they are on the web.
    • Students spend more time on their work because they are engage in it while using technology.
    • Technology integration improved students’ reading and writing skills.
  • 15. Pure Enjoyment
    • Students are enthusiastic about working with technology.
    • The like the fact that they can write papers faster and modify their work without having to start all over.
    • When students are doing work with technology they are more engaged in the curriculum.
    • Technology is a way for students to feel connected to the world.
  • 16. Students with Special Needs
    • Technology enables students to express themselves easier and freely.
    • Technology, such as computers, create a comfortable environment for students because they are non-judgmental.
    • It is beneficial for students that struggle with short attention spans.
    • Students can take all the time they need when using technology because it is self-paced.
  • 17. Teachers and Technology
    • Teachers should strive to integrate technology into their lessons.
    • Teachers should not be afraid to admit they need help learning more about technology.
    • Encourage your schools to go to technology education workshops.
    • By incorporating technology in your classroom you are supporting your student’s future. For example, it prepares students
    • for college, careers, and other
    • real-world events,
