What if Africa could write? what will she say? Africa is expressing her deepest feelings, just like any other mother, she wants to tell her children something, she wants them to be good children, she assures them, she cautions them....

“A secret letter from Africa to a Stranger Friend”
As Presented by: EFUET A. A.
2. AM AFRICA
I am Africa; I am from a family of seven. I have an elder
sister, three younger sisters and a younger brother.

If you look at our compound you will notice that to the
west am protected by two of my younger sisters, to the
north & east by my three other sisters. Going to the south,
you will find our only brother.

My children have different colors, speak different languages
and have different cultures.

Even though I have been blessed with innately intelligent
children and riches, my children and I still happen to be the
poorest in our family.
Even though history has it that am the one who started
civilization, my sisters are by far more advanced than I am.

For over the years my children have been working
as slaves for their cousins.

Even though this notion of slavery has been abolished
officially thanks to our father, my children still see
themselves as an inferior & less privilege race. I see
how my children die every day simply because they
want to visit their aunts…

If and only if they will know & understand the talents and
potentials they have.
If and only if they understood their position and the
change they could impact,

You know, the irony is that my children are helping
their cousins and most of them completely forget
about me.

While there’s nothing wrong in helping, how I wish
they included me their mother in their long and
short term plans.

A special blessing that our father gave me is immunization
to a certain extend of natural disasters like earthquakes,
floods, hurricanes, snows etc.

Unfortunately, am densely dotted with unnatural disasters
like bribery, embezzlement, poor governance, war etc.

But fortunately, they can be eliminated if my children want
to.
13. AM AFRICA
Just like God understands that he needs to work in a
team (3 in 1 GOD, + Angels), how I wish my children
could understand that it is best together.

How I wish my children could understand that to go
there you must start here.

How I wish my children would understand that it is
good to complain about the unnatural disasters
(especially poor governance)…

…But it will be better to take action aimed at igniting
a positive change, no matter how small that change can
be.
16. AM AFRICA
Am certainly happy because some of my children
have understood this very well…
…But how I wish the majority would one-day
grape the massage and do whatever they can.

Here I am writing to a total stranger, expressing my
deepest feelings and emotions, how I hope I get to talk
to my children myself one day.

Whatever happens, I hope they always remember it is
my image they are representing, it is their mother’s
image-Africa they are representing in whatever they
do/say. I hope they always have that in mind.

If you ever have the opportunity to talk to my children,
tell them that I love them just like God loves Christ & I
hope they will be willing & energized to go that extra-mile
for me their mother.
Tell them that it will not be easy, sure, but they should
not be tricked in believing that it is impossible.
