  2. Biography <ul><li>Currently completing postgraduate in secondary education </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Major teaching area: Home Economics </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Minor teaching area: Science </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Completed Bachelor of Science (Health Promotion) in 2002 </li></ul>

Concerns with using computers in the Classroom <ul><li>Have basic skills, that have sufficed at work and university, but am not comfortable completing more high-tech activities such as creating web pages, editing graphics and trouble-shooting when technology fails. </li></ul><ul><li>Being able to answer students questions about the technology being used </li></ul><ul><li>Ensuring that students stay on task, do not breach any school based computer rules and do no cause damage to the equipment </li></ul><ul><li>Maximising the potential of technology </li></ul><ul><li>Ensuring I use the technology to improve student learning, rather than a time waster. </li></ul>
  4. Positive or Negative Experiences <ul><li>On prac in an advanced science class students used technology to investigate the properties of soundwaves. This worked really well and help students understand the new concept. </li></ul><ul><li>At work we often use projectors connected to laptops for presentations. I have found that this technology is unreliable. </li></ul>
  5. Confidence in creating experiences <ul><li>At the moment I am hesitant to use computers in classrooms, because I worry about the reliability of the equipment. </li></ul><ul><li>Whilst I can use programs I am familiar with a work, I haven’t had much experience in developing web resources so would tend to use things already developed. </li></ul><ul><li>Would find using the web for student investigations easy and am confident in doing this. </li></ul>
