    1. Enhancing the Use of Picture Books through Technology Lori Kelly 2 nd Grade Teacher, VCES April, 2009
    2. How the book looks from the 3 rd row of my classroom:
    3. Hurray for the flatbed scanner!
    4. After scanning:
      • Save in “My Pictures” as a jpeg
      • Insert in PowerPoint: insert>picture>from file
      • To use in Journal, “import” from ppt to Journal
      • Then. . .
    5. Finished product:
    6. Before and After 
      • The book is taped to the left bottom corner of the screen for a size comparison.
    7. Benefits
      • No more loss of time, student interest, & class control while walking around showing the photo to each row
      • Improved visibility for all students
      • Increased attention from students –they love the use of technology
      • I can draw on the “photo” to point out items of particular interest
