  • 13. December IJPSS Volume 1, Issue 4 ISSN: 2249-58942011 _________________________________________________________ Abstract: Understanding, predicting, and improving employee behaviors are major aspects of a manager’s job. Managers often try to influence work-related attitudes in order to create behavioral changes, relying on moderating variables such as the importance of the attitude, its specificity, its accessibility, whether social pressures exist between attitudes, and whether employees have direct experience with the attitude to impact what employees behaviorally do. This attitude-behavior relationship asserts that attitudes significantly predict future behavior by taking the previously mentioned moderating variables into account (Ajzen, 2001, 1996; Kraus, 1995; Sutton, 1998). To actually implement their decisions to influence employee attitudes, managers often enact various organizational and personal influence tactics. Most, if not all of these decisions are made under uncertainty and the effectiveness of some of these decisions remains questionable even after implementation. An alternative to the previously-mentioned active engagement process is the use of sensitivity analysis in which the user is allowed to play “what if,” simulated games with a model to better understand the model’s relationships and inherent tradeoffs (Fischoff, Slovic, & Lichtenstein, 1979; Liberatore & Nydick, 2003; Walker & Fox-Rushby, 2001; Wallace, 2000). • 15. December IJPSS Volume 1, Issue 4 ISSN: 2249-58942011 _________________________________________________________ Abstract: In rural economy, Punjab is dominating as two third of its total population and 65% of its total workers live in villages. Further 42.2% of the total workers in Punjab are engaged in agriculture (cultivators and agricultural labours). Their share in total rural workers, as per reliable sources is 57.2%. Since the early 2007-08, the yield of major agricultural crops has been experiencing stagnation. The additional increments in yield are rising at a very high marginal cost. As a consequence, per hectare net return is declining and this is the real crisis of Punjab agriculture. The annual trend growth rate of per hectare return, over variable costs from wheat and paddy (combined) was -2.18% during this period. In this case of cotton, it was -14.24% per annum during the same period [Ghuman 2001].A depleting water table, the ever-rising use of fertilizers and pesticides, over-mechanization, declining fertility of soil and almost stagnant minimum support prices (in real terms) are major reasons for a shrinking of farmers income from agriculture. Along with the shrinking of income, the labour absorption capacity of agriculture is sharply decline. The employment of labour in the rearing of major crops in Punjab declined from 48 crore man days during the triennium ending 2006-07 to 48 crore man-days during the triennium ending to this period. December IJPSS Volume 1, Issue 4 ISSN: 2249-58942011 _________________________________________________________ Abstract: Among the different forms of capital flows, academics and policymakers, talk about foreign direct investment (FDI) the most. This is because of several benefits of FDI and its importance in the world economy vis-à-vis other forms of capital flows. In the past fifteen years, FDI has been the dominant form of capital flow in the global economy, even for developing countries. FDI now have turned up their route towards emerging economies. Emerging markets are clearly outperformed by developed countries, and the disparities among countries are stark. While the world average was $115, it was $505 for developed countries and $49 for emerging markets .The paper studies the changes in the pattern of FDI and which have been diverted towards emerging economies. The success of the developed countries in expanding tourism industry has inspired many developing countries Based this article attempts to track the progress of tourism and hospitality development. The Government and private sector had invested a lot of money in providing public infrastructure and facilities to boost the the industry. Despite the massive amount of money spent on tourism and hotel industry development, no study had been conducted to relate industry spending with the impact of these developments towards the local economy and socio- culture. The main focus of the study is to explore and identify economic, environmental and socio-cultural impacts of tourism and hotel industry development. So here we have studied regarding the society awareness and their attitude or belief in respect of their contribution Keywords: tourism development, economic opportunity, benefit. • 23. December IJPSS Volume 1, Issue 4 ISSN: 2249-58942011 _________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT: This paper presents a new voltage regulation system multi converter dynamic voltage restorer (MC-DVR), capable of simultaneous compensation for voltage in Multibus/multifeeder systems. In this configuration two voltage-source converters (VSC) exist. The system can be applied to adjacent feeders to compensate for supply-voltage on the main feeder and full compensation of supply- voltage imperfections on the other feeders. In the proposed configuration, all converters are connected back to back on the dc side and share a common dc-link capacitor. Therefore, power can be transferred from one feeder to adjacent feeders to compensate for sag. The performance of the MC-DVR as well as the adopted control algorithm is illustrated by simulation. The results obtained in MATLAB/SIMULINK on a two-bus/two-feeder system show the effectiveness of the proposed configuration. Keywords: Power quality, Distribution feeder, Custom power device, MC-DVR, Voltage sag, VSC, DVR. • 25. December IJPSS Volume 1, Issue 4 ISSN: 2249-58942011 _________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT: India has widely been recognized as a success story of globalization. Over the past two decades, it has moved to be one of the major drivers of the world economic growth; emerging middle class consumers, high technology exports and impressive growth rate of real GDP(Gross Domestic Product) have been instrumental for attracting foreign investors. However, the impressive growth of India has not been successful in bringing enough progress in the major weaknesses of the economy. As per the data of 2004-05, still 28% of the population lie below the poverty line, there is only marginal reduction in the absolute number of this poverty parameter; from 320 million of1993-94 to 302 million in 2004-05.The failure of stupendous economic growth of India in including economically and socially deprived section is reflected in its marginal achievement in Human Development. As per the National Family Health Survey- 3(NHFS-3) nearly about 46% of the children in the age group of 0 to 3 years suffer from malnutrition in 2005-06. Translating economic success into the inclusive growth which will be reflected through human development and improvement in the quality of life of the poor will require public policies to be pruned aiming explicitly at broadening the distribution of benefits from growth and global integration . Key Words: Globalization, social sector, policy issues, Human development, stagnating agriculture. • 27. December IJPSS Volume 1, Issue 4 ISSN: 2249-58942011 _________________________________________________________ Abstract: Indian economy has grown encouragingly in the last few decades. The growth was undoubtedly encouraging and eminent. All the sectors of the economy have witnessed a remarkable growth barring the agriculture sector. During the last six decades of planning, the economy has seen many ups and downs. The economy has shown resilience amid the different scenarios and has performed exuberantly. Indian GDP growth has recently touched a peak of 9.6 percent and has illustrated its resilience in the midst of the world financial crisis and is again on the path of growth after a moderation in its performance. To sustain and further accelerate this growth requires attention to some bottlenecks in the economy. One such factor is the social sector. The sector is at a concerning level and needs attention not only for further economic growth but also for inclusive growth.
