Welcome. At EDMIN, our vision is to improve learning by building online performance centers to provide an integrated suite of products and services to accelerate student learning, and monitor student performanceEdmin was founded in 1989. During that same year, then President Bush, convened a National Education Summit calling for national curriculum standards in public schools. As a nation we have been working to identify what students should know and be able to do when they graduate. Also, in 1989, the report entitled "Goals 2000“ was issued. That report was the prelude to NCLB in 2001.This was also the year the hand-held Game Boy video game was introduced by Nintendo and we began to embraced ‘technology’ on a personal level. How many of you had a Game Boy…or bought one for your children? Our INFORM Learning System provides a complete learning and accountability solution for elementary schools through adult education… at a personal level.
Is education different than so many other industries?
Over 500 user capabilities can be turned on/off by 3 to 10 “roles”
EDmin provides over 6000 capabilities
EDmin also supports ETL and Reporting on virtually ANY type of data
Dashboards are easily created/modified and are “live” so user can interrogate the data. Includes showing forecasting capability to determine where students may be based on current trends.
Tool tips for icons: Student Tracking Academic Progress, Individual Learning Path, AttendanceThis screen: Academic Progress.Requirements: In the area of Academic progress, for example, the student should be able to see credit attainment (number of credits earned vs. credits required for graduation), status on state exit exams, district requirements (community service hours, technology literacy exam, etc.). In other words, progress against any requirement that must be met for graduation.---------Stacked bar chart to be replaced with selected Dundas gauge. Gauge needs a reasonable scale (increment by scale of credits [CA=5, MD=1]) and should be specifically labeled to reflect the goal, progress, and remaining credits. For scaling purposes, number of credits is not expected to exceed 300 and number of courses is not expected to exceed 60.For state/HS exit exam, display a user defined picture for any exam “passed”. Label with the specific student score and date attempted.Grad standards module can be used to create checklists for other district requirements, such as “Completed 20 hours of community service” or the academic requirements as shown above. Clicking on the “satisfied” link can take the student to detail of when it was satisfied, however if you want to just keep this as a check list, I’d recommend just displaying the item and the green check or red “x”. The column which indicates “proficient” may be omitted. Choices are proficient, proficient with honors, and proficient with high honors – at least one is required, so proficient is just used for general checklists. We will need a place to hold the credits required for each curricular area. The Credits attained will be reported out from the completed assignments.State exit exam results are a line item on the checklist which pops up when students click on it. Use Gilroy list as model.
INFORM Assessment Center is an option which allows test creation in three easy steps – define assessment, search for items, and publish and administer, either online or by plain paper scanning with EZ Scan. Built-in best practices guide teacher creation of items or selection of items from ETS item banks for ELA, Math, and Science. This item bank contains high quality and valid items aligned to your standards. With either EZ Scan or online testing, the test results are available in near real time – whenever the testing session is complete and all batches have been scanned.
