  • HI – I’m John Reese; Docufide’s CEO I’ve spent 40 years getting rid of paper, empowering end-users, and deploying self-service delivery systems. Some quick highlights might explain my status as a non-recovered entrepreneur. Over 30 years ago, I designed Citicorp’s first ATM’s. When we rolled out 500 of them through NYC it transformed retail banking, forever. In the mid ‘90’s I left my senior position at TRW and started the first company to transform paper resumes into Internet-accessible private databases for 170 clients like Bell South, Merck, eBay, and Honeywell. Through the late 90’s I observed first hand the profound impact the elimination of paper had on recruiting. No more classified ads in newspapers, no more resumes on bond paper, and the emergence of a multi-billion database-centric Internet Recruiting industry. It’s past time for this to occur in the Education industry. That’s why I formed Docufide seven year ago.
  • the good news: they are now rapidly being transformed.
  • Nothing like a strong focus on data systems requirements from the federal government, backed up by $245M of Longitudinal Data System grants, over $640M in I3 funding to the LEA’s and let’s not forget the $4.3B race to the Top.
  • Since its inception Docufide has steadfastly focused on serving as Education’s Trusted Intermediary: electronically delivering, analyzing, and managing the use of academic records. Phase I of our business facilitates the secure movement of these records between Record Holders (schools) and receiving institutions or individuals, which have been requested by Record Owners (typically students and their parents).
  • and the delivery and management of a repository for state education agencies.
  • Quite well! We’ve delivered academic records to perhaps 40,000 locations, including well over 2,000 college admissions offices; 1,200 of whom have agreements with us, and receive them electronically. Our delivery services are used by high schools in 47 states and in 60 countries. Three strategic relationship are worth highlights: Docufide was competitively selected by MHEC – covering the 12 midwestern states and 25% of the U.S. K-12 and college. Provided us with a hunting license and an umbrella contract under which any of these states can secure our services without an RFP Subsequently, CCA, the leading membership organization for for-profit colleges, also competitively selected Docufide to provide services to help these institutions receive as well as send student records electronically. And finally, we have a strategic partnership with Naviance, a leading supplier of college and career readiness software used by guidance counselor in over 4,000 high schools. Naviance contracts with us for a version of our services and provides it for free to their installed based.
  • In 2006 - Indiana was Docufide first statewide initiative. Now fully deployed they are moving forward with several major enhancements under their 3 rd contract renewal.
  • and Wisconsin and Utah in ‘09
  • Using the federal grants that will be awarded in the next couple of months, we believe that perhaps as many as a dozen new states will move forward with statewide initiatives. And, according to our projections, by the end of 2011 over 80% of the U.S. will have implemented or be moving forward implementing electronic student record delivery services.
