Define the tasks implied by tactical mission tasks IAW FM 1-02 and achieve a minimum 70% on overall testing
Tactical Mission Task The specific activity performed by a unit while executing a form of tactical operation or form of maneuver. It may be expressed in terms of actions by a friendly force or effects on an enemy force . See also mission statement ; operation order . (FM 7-15)
SCREENING FORCE Observes, identifies and reports enemy actions. Engages and destroys enemy ISR assets within it ’ s capabilities. Supported by the indirect assets of the unit being screened.
GUARD FORCE Contains sufficient combat power to defeat, cause the withdrawal of or fix the lead elements of an enemy ground force before it can engage the main body with direct fire, Supported by main body indirect assets
COVERING FORCE Self contained force capable of operating independently of the main body. It fights longer and more often and defeats larger enemy forces.
