### Topic 2 factoring trinomials part 3

1. 1. Factoring Trinomials Module 10 - Topic 2 Part 3
2. 2. Factoring GCF first • Remember in Topic 1 we factored by finding the GCF? Well, sometimes we have a trinomial that has a GCF and can be factored into 2 binomials. • If you can factor a GCF, always factor the GCF first before using any other factoring method. • Visit PurpleMath.com to learn how to factor out a GCF then use the boxes.
3. 3. Factoring & your Calculator • Factoring can always be checked by multiplying the factors, but you can also check your factoring using a graphing calculator. • MathBits.com will show you how to use your TI-83/84+ graphing calculator to check your factoring.
4. 4. Way to go! • You’ve finished reviewing Factoring with a GCF notes. • Exit and proceed to the Mastery Assignment.
