  • 2. Prior to computers and the Internet Job seekers searched newspaper “help wanted” ads and sent resumes to perspective employers through the U.S. Postal Service.
  • 3. Today with computers and the Internet Job seekers today search the Internet and send electronic copies of resumes to perspective employers.
  • 4. Today, most communication is done via the Internet and electronic mail.
  • 5. Job Boards are internet websites which posts jobs supplied by employers
  • 6. Job Search Engines are websites with internal “engines” that search the Internet for job postings and link directly
  • 7. Social media websites provide paths of communication between employers and job seekers
  • 8. The Internet provides a wealth of information for the job seeker
  • 9. Job searching has gone mobile Indeed.com Monster.com Simplyhired.com
  • 10. However, despite the digital age, Job search is still a group effort and Networking is alive and well.
