ABSOLUTE LOCATION <ul><li>Refers to the exact position of an object or place, measured within the spatial coordinates (latitude & longitude) of a grid system </li></ul><ul><li>Written using coordinates, such as: </li></ul><ul><li>10.6°N, 71.55°W </li></ul><ul><li>Lake Maracaibo of Venezuela </li></ul>The Basics of Geography : Location

RELATIVE LOCATION <ul><li>Refers to the location of one place in relation to its surroundings </li></ul><ul><li>Written using words, such as: </li></ul><ul><li>China is in the northeastern hemisphere, south of Mongolia, West of the East China Sea, East of Kazakhstan, and North of Myanmar </li></ul>The Basics of Geography : Location
