  • This was inside a Wells Fargo office in the border town of Naco, Arizona. These were mail order assemblies, and came by freight to be installed by the postmaster as needed.
  • The Library has a separate source of income; a legacy left to the PHF by the Slusser family. That principal and interest must be used for library purposes, not for the education department.
  • In the rear of this picture is the “stacks” area. The oil paintings on the walls depict real events in the early postal history of Arizona; a train robbery and several Indian raids on post riders and coaches.
  • These are the reason we have the foundation in the first place…our customers.
  • More customers, on a tour of the museum and the foundation.
  • Two example worksheets. For each worksheet, every student in the class gets a full set of the stamps that are shown or referred to on the worksheet, at no cost to the teacher or the student. We have millions of stamps on file, to provide to the students.
  • We want to enlarge our outreach to all the states and overseas as well. The SCC members can help by putting local teachers in touch with our Education Director at ldembowski.phf@mindspring.com
  • WE HAVE A WIDE RANGE OF AGES AND PHILATELIC EXPERIENCE IN THE VOLUNTEERS. In the center photo along the left side, the gentleman with the beard is Warren Franzen, an SCC member and a cousin of M. Franzen, formerly an engraver of Swedish stamps. Some of the volunteers have been with the PHF for over 30 years. Our oldest volunteer at present is 95; he’s there three mornings a week like clockwork.
  • Kelly is director of development; Lena is administrative assistant; Lisa is director of education.
