  • 1. 1E Parent Information Night 2010 Welcome Miss Elizabeth Atkin
  • 2.
    • Communication- Note in homework folder or write in Parent Communication book. Address emails to office. Please check your child’s Homework Folder daily for communication from school.
    • Meetings- Please send a note requesting a meeting.
    • Appointments- Send note and sign out child from office. Regular appointments require written request to Margo.
  • 3. Routines
    • Morning Routine- Meet in shed. Please be punctual. Parents are welcome to come into the classroom.
    • Afternoon Routine- Please advise of changes to collection arrangements. Collect your child from under the tree.
    • Munch and Crunch- 9.30am quick fruit or vegetable snack.
  • 4.
    • Lunches- No bins, all rubbish sent home. Preferably no yoghurt.
    • Water Bottles- Kept under their desk. Please send two on Mondays and Thursdays for Sport.
    • Birthdays- Family celebration. Please no ice blocks or treats etc. Children will be given certificate.
    • Resources- Some are shared to minimise time wasted and lost property.
    • Shoe laces- Please offer time and encouragement.
  • 5. Homework
    • Freddy Frog Sounds- Heard weekly by teacher. New sounds sent home as taught in class.
    • ‘ Look and Say’ sight words- At child’s own pace. Not a race.
    • Reading- To/With/By. Focus on comprehension once decoding skills are developed. Oral reading with expression is a later skill.
  • 6.
    • Handwriting- Beginner’s Font. Focus on lowercase. Pencil grip, posture and letter formation. Lines will come later.
    • Weekly News- Roster sent home. Not compulsory first term. No toys please.
    • School fees. Term 1- Chair bag, pencil case, Mathematics box and phonics photocopying levy.

    • Positive Reinforcement
    • Happy grams, sticker book, prize box, student of the week, marble in jar, PRAISE!
    • Negative Consequences
    • Step System
    • Ruler reminder
    • Stand up
    • Move place
    • Timeout in other classroom
    • Visit office
  • 8.
    • Class Blog- Only authorized users can log in. Not compulsory to access from home.
    • Parent Helpers- Class Coordinators.
    • Numeracy and Literacy Activities
    • Excursion
    • Art smocks and raincoats. No umbrellas please.
    • Donations- Prizes, magazines, snap locks bags.
