  • 9. Method
    • Invites us to share face-to-face, a different quality and trait that we admire and appreciate about another person- every day for thirty days
    • or
    • Once a day, for thirty days, share with someone whose relationship is important to you a different quality or trait that you admire, appreciate, or value about the person
  • 10. Guidelines (1/3)
    • Select someone you meet daily
    • Tell the person what you are doing
    • Set an agreed upon time and place
    • Ask your partner to accept our comment gracefully. A simple “TQ” is sufficient
    • Discover their traits and quality along the way
    • Have fun along the way
  • 11. Guidelines (2/3)
    • Keep a list of traits as you go along
    • One thing at a day; no accumulative
    • Separate current happenings of the recipient from your feelings about that persons
    • No hidden agenda. Just acknowledge another person’s quality and traits
  • 12. Guidelines (3/3)
    • Expect the relationships to be transformed
    • Thank the person in your closure. Give the person the list. Close with style and grace
    • Let yourself discover some of the quality Along the way
    • Give a specific example for each trait that is shared

    • If you start the process, be committed to finishing it
    • Share the traits in person
    • The partner you select should be the partner you select
    • Choose a partner with whom you have a healthy relationship
    • Tell your partner what you are doing

    • “ I am working on doing a better job of letting people who are important to me know how much I appreciate their contribution (to our workplace, our family, or community, this friendship, whatever). Since you are one of those persons for me, would it be all right of once a day, over the next thirty days, I share a different quality, attribute, or trait that I admire and appreciate about you?”

    • Post a blank flip chart page for each person present, with his name on top of the page. Participants write down one trait or quality they admired or appreciated about each person. Share the traits in last day.
