    2. But we want a map on a flat sheet of paper
    3. Mercator
    4. To flatten the World
    5. we could stretch it…

    8. But watch

    14. The shapes of the countries are messed up
    15. For instance
    16. Britain
    17. and India
    18.  
    19. Seem to be the same size
    20. but India is actually 13 x the size of Britain
    21. So let’s try another way of flattening the World
    22. Take an Orange
    23. Mark it like this
    24. Cut along the lines
    25. Cut one side open
    26. Eat the fruit
    27. Flatten out the peel
    28. Here is an orange peel map of the World
    29. Let’s try another way
    30. Collapse the world
    31. onto an icosahedron
    32. Buckymap
    33. Shout out the numbers of the Continents
    34. Which number is South America? 1 2 3 4 6 5 7 South America
    35. Which number is Australia? 1 2 3 4 6 5 7 South America Australia
    36. Which number is Europe? 1 2 3 4 6 5 7 South America Australia Europe
