  • 1. Once  Upon  a  2013,                        A  girl  somehow  managed  to  have  an  amazing  year!    I  launched         my  6th  book  at  the  beginning  of  the  year  (Law  School),  studied  for   the  Indiana  Bar  Exam  and  took  it  again  in  February.    In  March,  was   quoted  in  a  semi-‐controversial  arNcle  appearing  in   The  Wall  Street  Journal  on  pharmacy.    In  April,  the  amazing  team  of   8  students  along  with  several  other  faculty  mentors  at  Butler   University  launched  the  second  children’s  senior  book  project,  He   Huffed  and  Puffed  But…A  Tale  of  a  Wolf  with  Asthma.                        In  May,  I  learned  that  I  passed  the  IN  bar  exam  and  was  sworn   in  to  the  bar  the  same  week  of  my  birthday-‐-‐yay!  In  June,  we  held  at   Butler  COPHS  the  10th  Annual  ConNnuing  EducaNon  Program  for   Pharmacists  to  a  packed  house.    Also  in  June,  I  headed  to  Yale  Law   School,  where  I  learned  my  way  through  the   Women’s  Campaign  School  this  summer.    (I’m  sNll  trying  to  rock  my   wardrobe  like  Rosa  DeLauro,  and  failing  at  it  150%.)                      During  July,  I  became  obsessed  with  3  things:  1.  medicaNon   adherence,  2.  flavors  of  ice  cream,  3.  a  gong,  as  we  held  a  1st-‐ever   conNnuing  educaNon  program  about  21  different  ‘flavors’  of   medicaNon  adherence  with  CHN.    The  ideas  spread  at  that  meeNng   were  published  in  Drug  Topics  this  fall.    Also,  I  graduated  from  the   Hamilton  County  Leadership  Academy  this  year  –  where  the  squirrels   ruled!    (There’s  a  long  story  there…)    I  also  caught  up  with  some  old   friends  that  I  embarrassingly  had  not  seen  during  law  school.                        Between  August  and  December,  Butler  generously  granted  me   a  sabbaNcal,  where  I  decided  to  go  crazy  (not  a  far  drive),  get  out  of   my  comfort  zone,  and  try  some  things  I’ve  never  done  before.    First,  I   headed  to  The  NY  Times  Schools  for  Tomorrow  Conference,  where  I   heard  all  about  MOOCs,  higher  ed,  and  the  big  changes  coming  (not   to  menNon,  had  the  pleasure  of  dinner  with  1  of  my  mentors).                          In  October,  I  decided  to  try  a  Kickstarter/crowdfunding   program  to  raise  money  for  my  next  book,  otherwise  known  as  the   #STEMPrincess  Project,  coming  2014!    I  also  squeezed  in  a  4-‐country   European  vacaNon  to  GER,  AUT,  LUX,  and  CHE.    In  November,  I   worked  with  Amy  Stark  to  create  #SMDames13,  an  Unconference  for   women  to  learn  Social  Media  in  Indiana.    All  in  all,  a  prely  amazing   year  for  having  no  goals  on  paper,  and  not  completely  sure  what  the   year  was  even  going  to  bring.    What  was  the  best  part?    Y-‐O-‐U,  as   always!    Happy  Holidays,  &  may  you  and  your  family  have  a  season  &   2014  that  are  merry  and  bright!                                  Hugs,    @ErinLAlbert
