The Falling Walls Conference 20 top researchers from around the world present breakthrough ideas in 15 minutes 1 day conference on 9th November each year, the anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall Sponsors The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research; German and international academic and research institutions 700 elaborate guests from science, industry, business and politics of about 75 nations Location Berlin The Falling Walls Foundation A non-profit charity, located in Berlin, dedicated to sustaining science and humanities and connecting science, politics, business and society Organizer of: • Falling Walls Conference • Falling Walls Lab • Falling Walls Circle (a meeting on EU research policy)

Kearney Falling Walls 2013 3 Falling Walls Lab Moscow is an opportunity for young talents in Russia and Ukraine to share breakthrough ideas with the world What is the Falling Walls Lab? 100 young talents present their breakthrough ideas to a top-class jury from academia, research and business – in 3 minutes each QUALIFYING LABS FINALE BERLIN, 8 NOVEMBER 100 PARTICIPANTS Winners of Falling Walls Labs qualify for the final Lab in Berlin. Costs are covered by A.T. Kearney OPEN CALL FOR APPLICATIONS Remaining slots are given to the best applicants FALLING WALLS CONFERENCE All 100 participants attend the Conference. Kearney Falling Walls 2013 4 Participants under the age of 35 in all disciplines are welcome, winners will be invited to Berlin with travel costs covered Who is invited to the Falling Walls Lab? 20-25 outstanding talents under the age of 35 from Russia & Ukraine – Master students, PhD candidates, post-docs, young professionals, entrepreneurs, start-ups Winners are qualified for the finale in Berlin – they are also invited to the Falling Walls Conference. Travel costs are covered by A.T. Kearney. Participants present their own research work, visions, business models and innovative ideas relevant to the world today All disciplines are welcome from agriculture, medicine, economics and philosophy to the liberal arts Audience: fellow scholars, jury members, A.T. Kearney and media
