ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION WARNINGNearly 8.590m3 of waste water from hundreds of hotels, restaurantsin the city and more than 8.310m3 wastewater from households in thecity are discharged directly into Hoai river without prior treatmenteveryday.Around Covered Bridge, the pollution become increasingly serious;the water is constantly black, fetid and contaminated and it is still thesame now (2010) due to 2,230m3 of sewage from the drainage systemof three wards Minh An, Cam Pho and Tan An (total population of12,000 people) and 28 hotels (700 rooms) and many small restaurants.A wastewater treatment plant is on construction at cost of 10,9 mEURO (French ODA).
