  1. 1. The Dynamics of The Solar Energy Industry By Dylan Finelli For Earth Resources Colgate University
  2. 2. Earth Resource: The Sun  The sun is one of the Earth’s greatest resources and it is expected to shine for the next several billions of years.  Solar power utilizes the sun as an energy source by converting sunlight into electricity (Solar Photovoltaic).
  3. 3. Environmental Benefits  Clean  Renewable  No extraction  No waste materials produced  No CO2 emission  100% environmentally friendly  Solar linked to “Going Green”
  4. 4. The Dynamics  The solar energy industry is continuing to expand as home owners and big businesses across the country are increasingly installing and utilizing solar energy.  Newly created demand for solar energy services including development, installment and maintenance of solar systems. Thus leading to new career opportunities.  Need for capital investment in order for solar energy technology to continue to advance, and for the industry to evolve.

  10. 10. Technological Advancement  Technologies are becoming more competitive with traditional fossil fuels as they are becoming more efficient.  Solar3D, Inc. is on the verge of developing a breakthrough 3‐dimensional solar cell technology to maximize the conversion of sunlight into electricity making solar cells dramatically more efficient and decreasing the per watt cost.  Technology advancements have already made solar energy more affordable. A few years ago solar cost about $90 per watt, this year it cost less than a dollar per watt.
  11. 11. “Go Green” Today!  YOU can support the solar energy industry, and the nations movement towards Going Green by  INSTALLING solar at your home or business  INVESTING in the solar market  WORKING in the solar industy Decide what Solar Solution is best for you!
