Romans 1f: So you think you can judge

  1. 1. Romans 1:22-23 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. 1 They resentresent the very idea of an all-powerfulall-powerful God, Who createdcreated them, is wiserwiser than they are and has powerpower over them. They create false gods that are more to their liking.
  2. 2. 24-25 Wherefore God also gave them upgave them up to unclean- ness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the Truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is blessed for ever. Amen. 2 To worship and serve selfself -- created being -- is to worship and serve a foola fool. In trying to honor ourselveshonor ourselves as gods, we dishonordishonor ourselves and reveal our foolishnessfoolishness.
  3. 3. "God gave them up" 3 When people determine to go their own waytheir own way, God letslets them go, And reapreap the fruit of their way. Man's way is always downhillalways downhill into moral depravity. Man's way is to worship and serve himselfhimself, not God. When people seek their ownown pleasure, they dishonordishonor themselves.
  4. 4. 4 Whitney Houston These all went their own way.
  5. 5. Question 1: What is the chief end of man? Answer: Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him for ever. Pornography, fornication, adultery, homosexuality
  7. 7. 26 For this cause God gave them upGod gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 7 Homosexuals call themselves gaygay, but they're not. Misery, disease, addictions, and such things are the suitable recompensesuitable recompense of their sin.
  8. 8. 28 And even as they did not likedid not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them overgave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 8 Reprobate mind = worthless, rejected by God. Not convenient -- not fit to do. God does notnot force Himself upon anyone. If you don't likedon't like God and His Way, He will let you gogo your own way. Man's way is not fitnot fit for anything good. But live that way if you willif you will.
  9. 9. Why do so many? "Not likeNot like to retain God in their knowledge." 9 When we acknowledge Godacknowledge God as God Almighty, We can no longer go our ownour own wayway, doing our ownown thing. Is no longer just a "good bookgood book". It is the PathPath that we must walk.
