    • Romans 10 1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God , but not according to Knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God's Righteousness , and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the Righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the Law for Righteousness to every one that believeth.
    • When people try to serve God in our own righteousness , we always set up false standards . But the Righteousness of God can never be achieved in the flesh. His Righteousness must be counted unto us , through Jesus Christ. We set the bar to a level we can achieve in the flesh.
    • That is, Christ has fulfilled the whole Law, therefore whoever believeth in Him, is counted just before God, as much as though he had fulfilled the whole law himself . Matthew Henry Concise Bible Commentary.
    • Hebrews 10 38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, My soul shall have no pleasure in him. "Whatsoever is not of faith is sin." Romans 14:23 "I'll do it myself." is contrary to faith.
    • 2 Chronicles 32 7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him: 8 With him is an arm of flesh ; but with us is the Lord our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.
    • Whatever man tries to do in the strength or wisdom of the arm of flesh is doomed to failure. We can't live right, take care of ourselves or our families, build a church , or please God in any way with the arm of flesh. We must trust God , not only for eternity, But for all we need in this present world. Standing on the Promises of God!
    • Matthew 6 33 But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His Righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Living for God is not what we do after we have done everything else ; God don't want our leftovers . God first, last, and always! Only !!
    • Psalms 127 (TLB) 1 Unless the Lord builds a house (church; congregation) , the builders’ work is useless. Unless the Lord protects a city, sentries do no good. 2 It is senseless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, fearing you will starve to death; for God wants His loved ones to get their proper rest. When we live our lives God's Way, loving Him , loving one another , and trusting Him for all, He will supply all our need, according to His riches in glory.
    • Spirit of the Law versus the letter of the Law Matthew 5 27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: 28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. Faithfulness is a matter of the heart -- To God, or to a mate, or to a friend. Faithfulness is not a human trait ; it's a God trait . We must have Jesus as Savior, and submit ourselves to Him as Lord.
    • Matthew 5 38 Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: 39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but who-soever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. 40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. 41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. 42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Spirit of the Law versus the letter of the Law
    • Matthew 5 43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you , Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in Heaven: for He maketh His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? Spirit of the Law versus the letter of the Law
    • Matthew 5 21-24 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: 22 But I say unto you , that whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: … Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Spirit of the Law versus the letter of the Law
    • Romans 10 1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God , but not according to Knowledge (full discernment) . Zeal without a good understanding of God's Nature is a dangerous thing. God wants His children to have His Nature . God is love, joy, peace, patience; He is gentle and good; He is faithful, meek, and self-controlled.
    • Proverbs 19 (NIV) 2 It is not good to have zeal without knowledge, nor to be hasty and miss the way. Zeal without knowledge will cause us to act rashly and miss the mind of God. We may do more harm than good, perhaps wounding some of God's children, Or driving a lost sinner away from salvation.
    • 3 For they being ignorant of God's Righteousness , and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the Righteousness of God. When anyone tries to be righteous in our own strength and wisdom, we make a mess . We try to do the right thing, but stumble around, wounding instead of healing; Driving away instead of drawing near.
    • He truly thought he was serving God, but was instead, fighting against God, and God's Plan and Purpose. Before Paul was saved, he had a zeal for God, but in his ignorance of Christ, he persecuted the church. That is what so often happens when we get focused on our own way -- what we think is right, instead of the spirit of God's Word. God is all about love , kindness , gentleness . The devil promotes harsh, critical, judgment.
    • Everything that God does is rooted in and motivated by -- His Love for mankind. Be led by the Holy Spirit of God; Human logic is the devil's playground. All that we do should be measured and weighed by God's Standard .
    • 111 children at the orphanage in Moldova were able to receive fruit and candy through Brother Archie's ministry. We helped with that.
