  4. 4. Proverbs 15:25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but He will establish the border of the widow. Pride in self annoys God. “I’ve got more stuff than you.” “I’m smarter than you.” “I don’t have to obey.” But God cares for those in humble circumstances who cast their cares upon Him. 4
  5. 5. 2 Chronicles 7 14 If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My Face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Humble themselves Confess your sin as sin. 5
  6. 6. 14b… then will I hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. God can’t hear our cry when we are walking pridefully and stubbornly in sin, Determined to have our own way. But when we humble ourselves and pray, turning from our own wicked ways: He hears, forgives and heals. 6
  7. 7. 26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words. All such thoughts are abomination to the Lord. Matthew 12 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: … 7
  8. 8. 26b… the words of the pure are pleasant words. (NIV) The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but those of the pure are pleasing to Him. Our words come out of our thoughts. Think upon things that are true, honest, and just; Pure, lovely, and of good report; Virtuous and praiseworthy. 8
  9. 9. 27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live. Whatever the circumstances, learn to be content. Philippians 4:11 1 Timothy 6 6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 9
  10. 10. Hebrews 13 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. When our Lord is walking by our side, how can we be discontented? He is the Source of all joy and peace within. Stay in close fellowship with The One Who will never forsake us. 10
  11. 11. Never get your eyes on money or stuff; it will blind you to the good things of God. These are the true blessings. 11
