Do You Think it is a Small Matter- David’s Men.pptx
Christmas 2012
1. Jesus, the Christ, Messiah,
Son of God
Was to be born of the house of
David
And would sit on his father’s
throne forever. And He
People seldom study the
genealogies in the Bible, but
was!
Matthew shows clearly that Jesus
was descended from King David.
1
2. But I want to mention some interesting facts about
that family going back even beyond David. Matt 1
Harlot of Jericho
5a And
Salmon begat
Boaz of Rahab;
Tamar was Judah's Boaz married
daughter-in-law posing as Ruth, a Moabite.
a prostitute.
2
3. God didn’t choose a perfect family to be the family
of His Son, Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
There are none.
But God chose the right family,
including Gentiles and vile sinners among them.
God chose you to be HIS son or daughter.
Your ancestry matters not.
3
4. All in the line of Jesus
Christ, the Son of God.
God would have us understand that He uses
imperfect men and women to do His Work.
Jesus came, the perfect sacrifice, to save us
all from our sins.
Whosoever will may come and be saved.
Your past doesn't matter; your family matters not.
What people think of you is not a concern to God.4
5. Now I want to mention Jesus’ cousin
John the Baptist.
Out of them
Elisabeth, his came John.
Brother Zacharias mother, was old
his daddy. and barren. 5
6. Luke 1:80 And the child
grew, and waxed strong in
spirit, and was in the deserts
till the day of his shewing
unto Israel.
Tough conditions make a tough man,
and a prophet of God must be tough.
He proclaimed Jesus to be the Lamb of God who
would take away the sins of the world.
6
7. Matt 1:18
Now the birth of
Jesus Christ was on this
wise: When as his mother
Mary was espoused to
Joseph, before they came
together, she was found with
child of the Holy Ghost.
Joseph was thinking of quietly putting her away,
because he thought she had committed adultery.
7
9. Caesar thought he was a god,
but he was just a tool in the
Caesar Hand of God.
Augustus
9
10. Joseph and Mary went to
Bethlehem to pay their
taxes.
70 miles.
Because of the census
Bethlehem was filled to
overflowing.
10
11. Jesus was born in a stable in a
manger because there was no
room for Him in the inn.
The birth of the King of kings and
Lord of lords wasn’t announced
where you would expect..
11
12. His birth was first
announced to the lowliest
of workmen in Israel.
They told the Good News.
12
16. Jesus at age 12
The learned men in the temple were amazed at His
understanding of the Word of God.
They didn’t know that He was the Word made flesh
to dwell among men.
16
17. At age 30 Jesus was baptized
by his cousin, John the Baptist,
and He began His ministry.
17
18. Hated Jesus.
He preached deliverance
to the poor and oppressed.
18
20. Jesus was seen by
hundreds of people after
He rose from the dead.
His Blood saves all
from sin.
20
21. The Shed Blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing
that will wash away our sins.
If you believe the Truth, the Gospel of Jesus
Christ: that Jesus is the Holy Son of God;
If you believe that He came to this earth, born
of a virgin, to live as a man, yet without sin;
If you believe that He gave His life, shedding
His Blood for you;
21
22. All that remains for you to do is to ask.
Pray a prayer something like this:
Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the
Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
I want to be born of Your Spirit into Your family.
I ask You to forgive me of my sins, washing them
away in the Blood of Jesus.
Lord, be merciful to me a sinner and save me from
the bondage of sin and the torments of hell.
I thank You Lord for my salvation. Amen.
22
23. If you sincerely prayed that prayer,
You are a born again child of the Living God.
Your sins are forgiven; you are cleansed.
Your testimony can be as simple as:
"I love the Lord and thank God for saving me."
