There are some important Truths in these verses: The church at Antioch was a mixed race church, including the leadership.A racist attitude has no place in the church. 1 John 3 23 And this is His Commandment, That we should believe on the Name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as He gave us Commandment. 7
  • 8. The church at Antioch was also a mixture of social classes that worked together in harmony.Manaen was raised with Herod -- upper class. Paul was a highly educated Pharisee. There were businessmen and slaves. 8
  • 9. The men were fasting and praying together.Dont sacrifice the importantupon the altar of the urgent. 9
  • 10. The Holy Ghost spoke to them, and they heard.God still speaks to His children by His Spirit. We just need to be still and hear His Voice. 10
  • 11. 2 As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, theHoly Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saulfor the work whereunto I have called them. 3 Andwhen they had fasted and prayed, and laid theirhands on them, they sent them away.
