Acts 10e Salvation of Gentiles

  1. 1. Peter has arrived at the home of Cornelius, The Roman Centurion in Caesarea. 781 Salem Road, Rossville, GA 30741
  2. 2. Acts 10 34-37 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth Him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. The Word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: (He is Lord of all) That Word, I say , ye know, which was published throughout all Judaea, and began from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached;
  3. 3. 38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with Power: Who went about doing good , and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
  4. 4. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; Whom they slew and hanged on a tree:
  5. 5. 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed Him openly; Just as Jesus' birth was revealed to the chosen, So was His resurrection .
  6. 6. 41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with Him after He rose from the dead. John 20 19-20 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. And when He had so said, He shewed unto them His hands and His side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.
  7. 7. 42 And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. Acts 1:8 (KJV) 8 But ye shall receive Power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
  8. 8. 43 To Him give all the prophets witness, that through His Name whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins. Only one condition : Place all your faith in Jesus Christ. Sins washed away. Born again.
  9. 9. 44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the Word. They believed the Gospel, Were saved, Received the Holy Ghost.
  10. 10. 45-46 And they of the circumcision (Jews) which believed (Christians) were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
  11. 11. I wonder if these brethren went with Peter just out of curiosity , because he was going to Gentiles . They certainly didn't expect to see Gentiles become Christians and be filled with the Holy Spirit . They were not God's chosen; how could they receive these blessings from God!
  12. 12. 46b-48 Then answered Peter, Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we? And he commanded them to be baptized in the Name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days. Of what God has done in us: Dead to sin Alive to righteousness.
  13. 13. John 1 11 He came unto His own, and His own received Him not. 12 But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name: 13 Which were born , not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God .
