  2. 2. Luke 24 1-3 Now upon the firstday of the week, very early inthe morning, they (the womendisciples) came unto thesepulcher, bringing the spiceswhich they had prepared, andcertain others with them. Andthey found the stone rolledaway from the sepulcher. Andthey entered in, and found notthe body of the Lord Jesus. 2
  3. 3. 4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexedthereabout, behold, two men stood by them inshining garments: 5 And as they were afraid, andbowed down their faces to the earth, they said untothem, Why seek ye the living among the dead? 6 Heis not here, but is risen: remember how He spakeunto you when He was yet in Galilee, 7 Saying, TheSon of man must be delivered into the hands ofsinful men, and be crucified, and the third day riseagain. 3
  4. 4. Just like the disciples, we need to learn to listen, with our hearts as well as our ears. We need to give our full and focused attention. We need to submit to the Holy Spirit, that we may hear with understanding. We need to obey and live out the Word of God in the Power of the Spirit of God.Not just in church 4
  5. 5. 8 And they remembered His Words, 9 And returnedfrom the sepulchre, and told all these things untothe eleven, and to all the rest. 10 It was Mary Mag-dalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother ofJames, and other women that were withthem, which told these things unto the apostles. The first to tell the Good News were women. They were there. 5
  6. 6. 11 And [the womens]words seemed to [the otherdisciples] as idle tales, and they believed them not. They had walked with Jesus for 3 ½ years. He had told them He would be raised. Yet when told that He was no longer in the tomb, but was raised -- They refused to believe the Truth. 6
  7. 7. Peter and John went to the Jesus walked with twotomb and found it empty, disciples on the Road to Emmaus, and But still didnt believe. revealed Himself to them. 7
  8. 8. 32 And they said one to another, Did not our heartburn within us, while He talked with us by theway, and while He opened to us the Scriptures? 33And they rose up the same hour, and returned toJeru-salem, and found the eleven gatheredtogether, and them that were with them, 34Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hathappeared to Simon. 35 And they told what thingswere done in the way, and how He was known ofthem in breaking of bread. 8
  9. 9. 36 And as they thusspake, Jesus Himself stoodin the midst of them, andsaith unto them, Peace beunto you.37 But they were terrified andaffrighted, and supposed thatthey had seen a spirit. The Lord is going to make certain that His disciples understand and believe That He is Risen from the dead. 9
  10. 10. 38 And He said untothem, Why are ye troubled?and why do thoughts arise inyour hearts? 39 Behold Myhands and My feet, that it is IMyself: handle Me, and see; Thomas missedfor a spirit hath not flesh and this meetingbones, as ye see Me have.He only asked for what they had already seen. 10
  11. 11. 40 And when He had thus spoken, He shewed themHis hands and His feet. 41 And while they yetbelieved not for joy, and wondered, He said untothem, Have ye here any meat? 42 And they gaveHim a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honey-comb. 43 And He took it, and did eat before them. 11
  12. 12. 44 And He said unto them, These are the Wordswhich I spake unto you, while I was yet withyou, that all things must be fulfilled, which werewritten in the Law of Moses, and in theprophets, and in the Psalms, concerning Me. 45Then opened He their understanding, that theymight understand the Scriptures, They had heard the Scriptures and Prophecy concerning the Messiah all their lives. Now Jesus gives them understanding. 12
  13. 13. 46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus itbehooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the deadthe third day: 47 And that repentance and remissionof sins should be preached in His Name among allnations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are wit-nesses of these things. 49 And, behold, I send thePromise of My Father upon you: but tarry ye in thecity of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with Powerfrom on high. 13
  14. 14. 50-53 And He led them out as faras to Bethany, and He lifted upHis hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while Heblessed them, He was partedfrom them, and carried up intoHeaven. And they worshippedHim, and returned to Jerusalemwith great joy: And were contin-ually in the temple, praising and Will you believeblessing God. Amen. the Truth? 14
  15. 15. Every person must acknowledge that he is a sinner, without hope of eternal life. He must realize and believe that he needs a Savior. He cant pay for his own sins, but Jesus paid the debt for him.Jesus died in our place, for our sins, so that we may have eternal life through His Name. 15
  16. 16. The Shed Blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing that will wash away our sins.If you believe the Truth, the Gospel of Jesus Christ: that Jesus is the Holy Son of God;If you believe that He came to this earth, born of a virgin, to live as a man, yet without sin;If you believe that He gave His life, shedding His Blood for you; 16
  17. 17. All that remains for you to do is to ask. Pray a prayer something like this: Dear Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus Christ.I want to be born of Your Spirit into Your family.I ask You to forgive me of my sins, washing them away in the Blood of Jesus.Lord, be merciful to me a sinner and save me from sin and from hell. I thank You Lord for my salvation. Amen. 17
  18. 18. If you sincerely prayed that prayer with me, You are a born again child of the Living God. Your sins are forgiven; you are cleansed. Your testimony can be as simple as:"I love the Lord and thank God for saving me." 18
