2 peter 3b

  1. 1. April 28, 2010
  2. 2. Judgment is coming upon all sinners who reject Jesus as Savior and Lord. Jesus is coming back to receive unto Himself those who have accepted Him as Savior and Lord.
  3. 3. 8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. Scoffers are willfully ignorant of Truth. Lovers of God must not be so. God measures time against eternity , a far greater perspective than ours.
  4. 4. 9 The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. The Promise of the Rapture of believers is true.
  5. 5. Two thousand years is nothing in the Mind of God , Especially when weighed against His Desire that all men will accept salvation from wrath. John 3 16-18 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.
  6. 6. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. A thief comes when he is least expected . The day of the Lord describes end-time events that begin after the Rapture and culminate with the commencement of eternity. The Bible Knowledge Commentary: An Exposition of the Scriptures by Dallas Seminary Faculty.
  7. 7. Sincere men and women can disagree on the timing and order of the end time events. But Jesus WILL catch away His church. This old earth WILL pass away: "with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
  8. 8. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved , what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the Day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved , and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? We must not live our lives as if the things of this world are in any way permanent . We must live our lives looking forward to eternity with God.
  9. 9. 13 Nevertheless we, according to His Promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of Him in peace , without spot , and blameless . What do you want to be found doing when Jesus comes back ? Now; all the time.
  10. 10. 15 And account that the long-suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the Wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; Jesus promised He would come back to receive us unto Himself. If it seems like it's been a long time, It is only because God wants as many to be saved as will be saved.
  11. 11. 16 As also in all his (Paul) epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest (twist) as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness . 18 But grow in Grace, and in the Knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
  12. 12. Paul did write some things that are not easy to understand, especially for the carnal mind. Then let us seek to have our minds prepared for receiving things hard to be understood, by putting in practice things which are more easy to be understood. Matthew Henry Concise Bible Commentary. Christian living is not hard to understand, if we are willing to submit to the Word of God. The only thing that makes it complicated is when our stubborn mind is looking for loopholes.
  13. 13. This world is not my home, I'm only passing through. My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from Heaven's open door, and I can't feel at home in this world anymore. Just up in Glory Land we'll live eternally the Saints on every hand are shouting victory. Their song of sweetest praise drifts back from Heaven's shore and I can't feel at home in this world anymore.
