  • Stone Creek You are Welcome www.rossvillechurch.com781 Salem Road, Rossville, GA 30741 August 5, 2012 1
  • Brother Doyle Ratterlee will be in service withus on August 8, 9, 10 -- this Wed, Thurs, Friday to preach and to worship with us. 2
  • In 1 Samuel 19, Jonathan has talked to Saul about his irrational hatred of David. 1 Samuel 19 3
  • 6 And Saul hearkened unto the voice of Jonathan:and Saul sware, As the Lord liveth, he shall not beslain. 7 And Jonathan called David, and Jonathanshewed him all those things. And Jonathan broughtDavid to Saul, and he was in his presence, as intimes past. Review 4
  • 8 And there was war again: and David went out,and fought with the Philistines, and slew them witha great slaughter; and they fled from him. 9 And theevil spirit from the Lord was upon Saul, as he sat inhis house with his javelin in his hand: and Davidplayed with his hand. ReviewEvery time we entertain a negative thought oremotion, we open the door for demons. 5
  • 10 And Saul sought tosmite David even to thewall with the javelin; buthe slipped away out ofSauls presence, and hesmote the javelin into thewall: and David fled, andescaped that night. That demon has driven Saul crazy. 6
  • 11 Saul also sent messengersunto Davids house, to watchhim, and to slay him in themorning: and Michal,Davids wife, told him, saying, If thou save not thy She is telling Davidlife tonight, tomorrow thou to run for his life.shalt be slain. Michal loves David at this time, but we will soon see that its not godly love; It wont last. 7
  • 12 So Michal let Daviddown through a window:and he went, and fled, andescaped. 13 And Michaltook an image, and laid itin the bed, and put a pillowof goats hair for his bolster(head piece), and coveredit with a cloth. David is not afraid, buthe wont defend himself against the king. 8
  • 14 And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick. 15 And Saul sent themessengers again to see David, saying, Bring himup to me in the bed, that I may slay him. 16 Andwhen the messengers were come in, behold, therewas an image in the bed, with a pillow of goatshair for his bolster. Michal first lied with good intentions. She delayed the assassins, giving David time to escape. Good intentions dont excuse lying. 9
  • 17 And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thoudeceived me so, and sent away mine enemy, that heis escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He saidunto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee? "He threatened to kill me, if I didnt help him." You have to be, before you can do. An honest person tells the Truth. 10
  • 18 SoDavid fled, andescaped, and came toSamuel to Ramah, and toldhim all that Saul had doneto him. And he and Samuelwent and dwelt in Naioth. David had the right idea -- run to the Lord.Samuel was Gods representative and prophet, so by fleeing to Samuel, David ran to God. 11
  • 19 Andit was told Saul, saying, Behold, David is atNaioth in Ramah. 20 And Saul sent messengers totake David: and when they saw the company of theprophets prophesying, and Samuel standing asappointed over them, the Spirit of God was uponthe messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied. 12
  • 21 And when it was told Saul, he sent othermessengers, and they prophesied likewise. AndSaul sent messengers again the third time, and theyprophesied also. God was not using these men as prophets; He was using His Spirit to prevent them. They could not harm him. 13
  • 22 Then went he (Saul) also to Ramah, and came toa great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said,Where are Samuel and David? And one said,Behold, they be at Naioth in Ramah. 23 And hewent thither to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit ofGod was upon him also, and he went on, andprophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah. 14
  • 24 Andhe stripped off his clothes also, andprophesied before Samuel in like manner, and laydown naked all that day and all that night.Wherefore they say, Is Saul also among theprophets? God doesnt have people lay down naked in front of a crowd of people. Gods people behave decently and orderly. 15
  • When God has a Plan for a woman or a man, He can and will preserve that person. Devils will try to destroy Gods men and women, but they cant overcome The Hand of God.The liberals tried to harm because they are a Christian organization; 16
  • Be bold.Matthew 10 (Jesus) 28 And fear not them whichkill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: butrather fear Him which is able to destroy both souland body in hell.Whether we live or die is of little consequence; Where we go when we die is of ultimate importance. 17
  • Matt 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing?and one of them shall not fall on the groundwithout your Father. 30 But the very hairs of yourhead are all numbered. 31 Fear ye not therefore, yeare of more value than many sparrows.Psalms 116:15 (KJV) Precious in the sight of theLord is the death of His saints. God greatly loves every one who will confess His Beloved Son as Savior and Lord. 18
  • Like David, we have nothing to fear from evil men.If God leaves us here on earth, we will do His Work in the Power of His Holy Spirit. If God allows us to die or be killed, we will be in Heaven with Him in that very moment. Nothing to fear! 19
