  • 1 John 1 1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it , and bear witness, and shew unto you that Eternal Life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5-12-10
  • 5 This then is the message which we have heard of Him , and declare unto you, that God is Light, and in Him is no darkness at all. Jesus had taught His disciples many things of God, the Father. This is one: "God is Light and in Him is no darkness at all." Darkness represents sin. Jesus never sinned while on the earth. God has no capacity to sin in Him.
  • God's nature is pure and perfect Light. Light is Righteousness . The Holy Spirit teaches us and leads us in perfect righteousness through John 17 17 Sanctify them through Thy Truth: Thy Word is Truth .
  • 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the Truth: Those who are in fellowship with God are walking , as closely as they may, To the Principles and Truths of His Word . They don't resent or resist God's Word, but rather embrace every Word of God. To walk in darkness is to walk contrary to the Light of God's Word. All contrariness to the Word of God is sin .
  • 7 But if we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another , and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. As we walk in the Light of His Word, we have fellowship with God , And that fellowship will extend to all of God's obedient children. " With one another ". It's not the walking that brings the cleansing of His Blood. The cleansing of His Blood brings the walking.
  • 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive our-selves, and the Truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us. John is writing to Christians . God's desire for all Christians is that we may enjoy that which John enjoys : Fellowship with God and with the children of God, And that our joy may be full.
  • 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us. Pretending to have no sin and therefore no need to repent will not make us happy. Allowing God's Word to speak to our hearts and convict us of our sin, And then to confess and forsake that sin: Will keep us in fellowship with our Lord, And bring joy unspeakable and full of glory.
  • 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We must confess our sin as sin . James 2 8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the Scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, ye do well: 9 But if ye have respect to persons (show partiality) , ye commit sin, and are convinced (convicted) of the law as transgressors. 10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point , he is guilty of all.
  • Galatians 5 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Between the flesh that is born of mankind, and our spirit which is born of God. "Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the desires of the flesh."
  • Galatians 5 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these ; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: … We must utterly reject all such works.
  • Galatians 5 22-25 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts . 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. To walk in the Spirit is to walk in love , To walk in joy and peace and patience . To walk in the Spirit is to walk in gentleness , To walk in goodness and in faith , Meekly submitted and disciplined to God's Word.
  • We will be in fellowship with God and one another.
